I'm Estelle an experienced Hypnobirthing practitioner of over 7 years standing and hypnotherapist of some 15 years., qualified and experienced in Clinical Hypnotherapy, Hypnofertility Therapy, Psychotherapy, Counselling, REIKI (master practitioner/teacher), Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and Childbirth Education.
My simple aim for those who take my course is that they have the best "birth experience" possible on the day, be it the first time or the 3rd time - each time is special!
Hypnobirthing is a generic term for the use of hypnotherapy in birth. It is generally accredited to Michelle Leclaire O'Neill referred to now as the Leclaire method. It was Leclaire who authored books on the subject including "HypnoBirthing the Original Method". Her work was based in part on research by English obstetrician Dr. Grantly Dick-Reid who published his book “Childbirth without fear” in 1942.
Other people instrumental in the spread of Hypnobirthing include Marie Mongan who founded The US based HypnoBirthing Institute, and Michel Odent .
Today hypnobirthing offers a method of natural childbirth education which underpins and supports the birthing experience by empowering couples to effectively “manage” their birthing whatever turn it may take and hence result in a more “positive” experience for all.
There are no gimmicks and it is not a “magic bullet” solution, it takes practice and commitment, but the results are worth the effort!
And as a “bonus” the techniques and skills are not just for birth, but for life!
Hypnosis is very simply a relaxed body and a focused mind - a great combination when it comes to giving birth as you will learn!
My aim for all the couples that attend my courses is that they can achieve the best possible birthing experience on the day , whatever the circumstances.

Hi there - my baby arrived on Dec. 1- 2 weeks late! Home birth as planned. A baby girl- Lily No Pain relief!! 5 hr labour like I wanted. The only thing was I didn’t use the pool after all that planning as I just got settled in my bed and didn’t want to move!! Got into the bath after though-best bath of my life! Breathing into those surges defiantly helped me through and it all opened up so fast- I was really amazed.
Thank you for your help and feel free to drop by and see her.
It was just so quick (3rd baby)
Although I didn't get to make the best use of the hypnobirthing techniques as it all happened so very quickly I do feel that it did help me enormously and put me in a very positive frame of mind. I had a very short labour with minimal amount of pain and pain relief and I believe that was down to the hypnobirthing.
I thank you very much for enabling us to have such a wonderful birthing experience.
The birth was very quick. I started feeling surges 6.00am (I thought they were Braxton Hicks!) and around 9.00 we realised they were surges. Tom guided me through the breathing techniques - he was a great birth companion (you would have been proud!). At 11.00 my waters broke, I was in the hospital at 11.30 and gave birth at 12.31! I focussed the on the birthing down breathing - the midwives were very impressed.
All the best, and thanks again for the advice and encouragement.
