I am a mum of two based on the outskirts of Manchester and Wigan. I run evening and weekend courses, plus home visits in the North West. For over 15 years I have worked in healthcare and education but most of all I enjoy working with mums-to-be and families.

I truly believe that the well-being of mums can’t be under-estimated and have experienced first-hand how wonderful KGHypnobirthing is in enabling a positive birth experience. I support mums-to-be to use this programme to help you achieve a positive birthing experience that is uniquely right for you and your baby. The comparison between birthing with and without KGHypnobirthing is profound and I believe that bringing a new baby confidently and gently into the world makes for a great start to motherhood.

It’s important to me that mums have a birth that they can be satisfied with and feel prepared and confident for the arrival of their new baby.

After 37 years as a practising midwife, I remain as passionate as ever about promoting birth as a natural and very special event. I have recently retired so have been able to channel my skills and experience in helping ‘soon to be mothers’ like you best prepare for birth. Experience has taught me a mother’s body is perfectly designed for birth, yet mothers have a tendency to work against it. I believe KG Hypnobirthing is the perfect way for me to empower you with knowledge and skills to help you achieve the best birth for you.

I am professional in my approach, trustworthy, warm and friendly (so I’m told!). I will support you from first contact on enquiry, throughout pregnancy and for the first month after birth. I will provide you with a chance for birth reflection within my support period, both as a positive means of birth recovery and as a celebration. We will also have fun along the way

I hold both a teaching and counselling qualification and have extensive experience in teaching Antenatal Education, Active Birth and Relaxation, along with providing De-brief, Birth Reflection and Breastfeeding Support.

Please don't hesitate to ring me should you have any questions at all,  or wish to discuss a tailor made session.

I teach courses to one couple at a time which means that togehter we can explore the whole course and address your needs, concerns, questions etc in complete privacy. It also means that the course can be scheduled at times to suit you.

I am a qualified and experienced hypnotherapist and hypnobirth trainer, as well as a NLP and hypnotherapy trainer. I volunteer as a Positive Birth Movement Facilitator and Breast Feeding Supporter.

It was in early 2001 when I was completing my nursing training that I began to explore in more depth the mind body connection, with particular interest in pain management. I then went on to work with the district midwife team and I saw first-hand that the experiences of many women in childbirth was not the one they wanted or planned for.

And so I continued my studies, progressing from training to be a hypnotherapist to opening my own practice at a medical centre in Manchester. My practice grew over the years and I have worked with some wonderful people and had amazing experiences. I am also a qualified trainer, and have worked across the UK and in Europe. I have continued to develop my skills and knowledge in order to provide the very best service for the mums and birthing companions. I  recently moved my practice to Cheshire for better motorway access, particularly for mums to be who are travelling from further afield.

Which brings me to where I am today. I specialise solely in hypnobirthing which I think is very important. When choosing someone to help you design your baby’s birth you want a specialist in hypnobirthing as well as in depth experience of birthing and pregnancy. Someone who can give you impartial knowledge, who is your advocate, who knows how the medical system works but who is not part of it.

I have 2 children and have just had the most wonderful experience of becoming a grandma (a hypnobirthing baby of course!). Being a mum really is the most joyous experience of our lives and I would be privileged to share in your journey.

I'm Kati Edwards, KG Hypnobirthing Teacher, the founder of Birth You In Love and a Doula UK Registered doula.

I am mostly to be found lapping up birth geekiness and talking to whoever will listen about the differences between the births of babies whose mothers have learnt to 'Hypnobirth' and those that don't.

I became passionate about helping women and their partners give birth during my first pregnancy.

In 2013, I set up 'Womb With A View'; a positive birth space at festivals connecting women to great information as to how they can help themselves give birth in the calmest, gentlest way.

In 2014, I took part in a BBC1 documentary produced by Landmark Films to help bring these ideas into the mainstream. The programme was called "Childbirth All or Nothing."

It was a fantastic show and to this day, people contact me to say watching it changed or reinforced their ideas on childbirth and led them to have a much more positive experience than they would have otherwise.

Since then, I have spoken at many birth conferences both nationally and internationally about how women can empower themselves towards better birth experiences. These have included the MAMA Conference, Scotland, the Women's Voices Conference, London, Doula UK Conference, London, Women's Right's in Childbirth, Oslo, Norway and the Manchester Homebirth Conference.

I am a fully qualified KG Hypnobirthing teacher teaching couples how they can use hypnobirthing to full effect during their babies births.

I am also on the KG Hypnobirthing Training Team teaching midwives, doulas and other health professionals how to use Hypnobirthing in their practice and also how to teach Hypnobirthing pregnant women.

I believe babies deserve to be born in the gentlest way possible and parents-to-be deserve to know what they can do to stack the odds in their favour to achieve a calm start to their baby's life.

Giving birth is easier when calm and relaxed because the muscles you need to give birth need to be relaxed in order to work most effectively. This potentially makes your labour shorter and more comfortable.

If you invest in my course, we'll be practicing some deep relaxation so you'll be able to access your innate wisdom and tap into the part of your mind that already knows how to give birth.

There will be a healthy dose of evidence based information so you'll know how birth actually works and you can work with your body as opposed to against it.

On my course, you'll gain an understanding of our current maternity system and how to work with it in a way that's right for you.

There is a strong focus on making sure your birth partner is well versed on how to be a birth partner so they are not just a 'spare part' as many dads have been historically. He'll have a very defined role and by the end of the course will be confident in how to help you.

I believe it's helpful to my clients that I have not only used these techniques personally but I see them in action in my work as a doula.

I use my background in NHS Psychology as well as storytelling to help convey the ideas in the course.

Arming yourself with the right knowledge along with practice of the techniques makes it more likely you'll be calm and confident in the birth process which is better for you and your baby.

Feel free to get in touch or to stalk me online to learn what you can to bring your baby into this world gently and calmly.

I teach in person within an hour of Manchester.

For those further afield, I use Skype or Zoom. I have taugtht clients in the Middle East and Australia and can teach anywhere with a good internet connection.

Should you be interested in working with me, please do get in touch. In the first instance, I can send out a form to see if we would be a good fit for working with each other and we can go from there!

I'll look forward to hearing from you if you feel drawn to working with me to help your baby's birth be as easy and calm as it can be.

With Love and Super Birthing Vibes,

Kati x

When I first found out I was pregnant I was absolutely terrified. I listened to other peoples horror stories and despite trying to be calm and in the zone I had a long and difficult labour.

After finding out I was expecting baby number two I looked around for ways to try and ease my worry. I discovered Hypnobirthing it completely changed my view on birth as a natural and safe process and with the support of some amazing midwives I went on to have a beautiful home birth. I felt completely in control and relaxed the whole way through.

I want to help as many women as possible have an amazing positive birth. Hypnobirthing also really involves the father or birth partner in the process which can lead couples to a deeper bond not only with their babies but as a family. I'm so excited to be now teaching courses in Saddleworth, Tameside and Manchester. I will also be offering courses one to one with couples.

I am currently a community midwife and I am KG Hypnobirthing trained. I have two teenage children and two border collie dogs. I live and work in Stalybridge and Oldham. I have had a passion for normal birth and breastfeeding before and throughout my career, I have seen women have traumatic births, who could have benefited greatly if they had gained confidence, calmness and serenity by attending hypnobirthing classes for their birth. I have also cared for hypnobirthing mothers and have seen a marked difference in how they cope with labour, where the baby makes a very gentle way into the world because it's mother is calm and serene throughout her birth.

With Revitalise HypnoBirthing, the emphasis is on helping expectant parents to dispel the fears traditionally associated with childbirth, unmask the common misconceptions surrounding the process, and help to build a roadmap to navigate away from fear and towards a naturally painless birth. And that navigation starts from the very first session. Contrary to what you might imagine when you think of ‘hypnosis’, you’ll retain complete control of yourself during HypnoBirthing sessions. Both parents will be encouraged to chat freely about their individual apprehensions and your Hypnotherapist will work with you to help demystify the process. He’ll help you understand the technical elements of the birth, break down the jargon that doctors and midwives might use, and arm you with powerful techniques to stay calm and in control before, during, and after, ensuring the best birthing experience for both parents and baby.
