Hello I'm Karen, a qualified and very experienced Complimentary Therapist. I have also gained a wealth of experience working for the NHS for over 27 years as a Registered General Nurse and Health Visitor. I first trained as a Reflexologist in London following the birth of my daughter, having had regular treatments throughout my pregnancy to ease the symptoms and ensure I was relaxed and well for the birth. I trained at St. Marys university in Twickenham and registered with the Association of Reflexologists. I have continued to study and now specialise in fertility, maternity and baby reflexology.
I have trained as a KG Hypnobirthing teacher and I am passionate about supporting parents to improve their birth experience and share the knowledge and skills to empower them.
Hypnobirthing is a logical, simple and comprehensive antenatal programme, as well as techniques to support in pregnancy and labour it instils confidence in parents. I am also a qualified infant massage and baby yoga instructor and offer small classes or 1:1sessions.

I am a dedicated and passionate midwife who has been practising since 2008. I have worked in all areas of midwifery including community and in birth centres. My main goal when working as a midwife is to keep a woman’s birthing experience as ‘normal’ as possible, even when their experiences are ‘not going to plan’. This is through different methods such as encouraging upright positions, advising massage and a homely atmosphere. During the time that I have worked as a midwife, I have cared for many couples who have used hypnobirthing as a tool to give them the best labour and birth experience possible. I was very inspired by these experiences, as I frequently cared for women that seemed so calm, their labours often progressed quickly and the women often used less pain relief than those not hypnobirthing. Along with this, the birth partners also appeared well informed and very supportive. These experiences inspired me to becoming a KG Hypnobirthing Practitioner, as I also wanted to be able to share these amazing, powerful techniques. I work part time as midwife now and part time as a Hypnobirthing Practitioner to give couples the flexibility and best availability for their classes. During my spare time, I go hiking, practice yoga and I am involved in a local midwifery group who are campaigning for a much-needed free standing birth centre in South Yorkshire. I love to travel and I have been lucky enough to spend time in different countries such as Madagascar, where I have gained many different experiences and have had my practice influenced.

I am from the North East of England currently residing and working in the West Midlands. I have always had a strong interest in alternative therapies including mindfulness and hypnosis, both of which have been invaluable to me throughout my university and everyday life helping me cope with some very challenging times.

I commenced my Midwifery Degree in 2013 and spent 3 years learning all there is to know about pregnancy, birth and the period following birth! Following the completion of my training in September 2016 I completed the Katharine Graves HypnoBirthing Teacher Training course in order to become a fully trained HypnoBirthing tearcher. I have a strong interest in normality and helping facilitate womens choice, this is always at the forefront of care I provide.

I believe passionately in positive supported birth experiences, strengthening the bond between couples and their baby.  KG hypnobirthing techniques help women and couples to relax and believe in their ability to give birth. Throughout my midwifery training, I was amazed and encouraged by the remarkable women I met and cared for, reinforcing my passion to improve birth experiences for all women. When I first cared for a woman who was utilising Hypnobirthing techniques, I was astounded by her confidence in her body, her baby and her birth and witnessed firsthand what a positive impact this had. I am a firm believer in KG Hypnobirthing, having seen it's huge success in a multitude of scenarios and my aim is to assist couples, making their pregnancy journey and experience as calm and positive as possible. I completed my dissertation on the use of hypnosis as a complementary therapy and I was amazed by the quantity of positive research. I was then fortunate enough to win the Iolanthe Midwifery Trust Student Award which funded my Hypnobirthing training. I teach Hypnobirthing alongside my career as a midwife which gives me a full insight into the advantages of Hypnobirthing throughout the birthing journey.

Hi, my name is Debbie and I'm a mother of four and grandmother of two. I am passionate about mothers and babies and I have worked in the field of pregnancy, birth and beyond for many years as a midwife formerly and now as a health visitor with the NHS. I am registered on the NMC as a midwife and a health visitor. I am also a qualified hypnobirthing practitioner, breastfeeding consultant and also a Developmental Baby Massage instructor working in the private sector. I believe that every birth is a miracle, but also that women have a deep seated inbuilt capacity to birth their baby's naturally, often without the need for pain relief if they can tap into their inner resources. I believe I can help mothers to tap into their inner resources through hypnobirthing, helping them to build up and realise confidence in their ability to birth their baby, whatever their birthing situation. When working with mothers and their partners, you naturally build up a trusting relationship. This facilitates me going on to provide breastfeeding/postnatal support following the birth and even providing a baby sitting service upon request.

I have two small children and used Hypnobirthing with the birth of my second child. If only I'd known about it first time around! It changed my life and I felt an almost like 'calling' to get qualified to teach to other expectant parents. Quite simply, I believe that given the day and age we are in, women shouldn't be fearful of birth. Women run global businesses, are heads of state and have the natural ability to grow and birth their babies - that's beyond incredible. However, there we are, exchanging birth horror stories at the water cooler. It's time for that to change, it's time for women to say 'when I had my baby, I felt in control'. Be a woman, harness your true potential and be proud of birth.
