I am currently studying Midwifery at University and I am very passionate about birth and Hypnobirthing. I was previously a volunteer Doula for a few years. I have helped women birth their babies in so many ways and each is as special as the last, and I am very enthusiastic when working with women and their partners that their labour and birth experience is controlled and empowering.

I would love to help you feel so empowered and in control of your body, your baby and your birth!

I am a dedicated and passionate midwife who has been practising since 2008. I have worked in all areas of midwifery including community and in birth centres. My main goal when working as a midwife is to keep a woman’s birthing experience as ‘normal’ as possible, even when their experiences are ‘not going to plan’. This is through different methods such as encouraging upright positions, advising massage and a homely atmosphere. During the time that I have worked as a midwife, I have cared for many couples who have used hypnobirthing as a tool to give them the best labour and birth experience possible. I was very inspired by these experiences, as I frequently cared for women that seemed so calm, their labours often progressed quickly and the women often used less pain relief than those not hypnobirthing. Along with this, the birth partners also appeared well informed and very supportive. These experiences inspired me to becoming a KG Hypnobirthing Practitioner, as I also wanted to be able to share these amazing, powerful techniques. I work part time as midwife now and part time as a Hypnobirthing Practitioner to give couples the flexibility and best availability for their classes. During my spare time, I go hiking, practice yoga and I am involved in a local midwifery group who are campaigning for a much-needed free standing birth centre in South Yorkshire. I love to travel and I have been lucky enough to spend time in different countries such as Madagascar, where I have gained many different experiences and have had my practice influenced.

After qualifying as a midwife at King's College London, I went straight to work for a caseload team in South London. This brilliant job - based at St Thomas' hospital - gave me the opportunity to work with women from their booking appointment, through the birth, to the early days of parenthood. I have now assisted at well over 100 births, at home and in hospital settings. It is always a privilege to support mothers at the time of birth, and I have seen, time and time again, the great strength and love that women bring to their own unique birth.

I was convinced of the benefits of hypnobirthing long before becoming a midwife. My sister, after a challenging first birth, used hypnobirthing to prepare for her second. The result was a overwhelmingly positive natural birth experience for my sister, which, in turn, transformed my understanding of what birth could be like. I have now witnessed many times the positive effects of hypnobirthing, and strongly believe in its benefits, however a birth unfolds.

Having studied languages to degree level at the University of Cambridge, I speak French and German fluently, and would encourage any mothers to get in touch if they would like classes, or more general support, in these languages.

I recently moved up to Sheffield, where I continue to work as an NHS midwife and qualified KG Hypnobirthing teacher.  I practice meditation myself, and have experienced first-hand its benefits for my physical and mental health.  On my days off, I head out to the Peak in pursuit of beautiful landscapes and rocks - my other great loves, and the reason for my move up North!

Providing support and care for women and families during pregnancy and childbirth isn't a job for me, its very much a part of who I am. I had a previous lengthy career working in a bank in Sheffield but gave it up to move to London to pursue my dreams of becoming a midwife.

I have never felt such a sense of pride or motivation for what I do until I found my calling and strive to ensure a woman always feels empowered, informed and in control of her birth. This is what led me to my interest in antenatal education and in particular, KG Hypnobirthing.

I am passionate about what this course provides, having seen first hand I can say undoubtedly that KG Hypnobirthing is a powerful tool that helps expectant parents feel confident, relaxed and informed about the exciting journey into parenthood.

I fell in love with midwifery from a very young age, my fascination began whilst observing my mum through the pregnancies of my siblings. This then led me onto my journey to qualify as a Midwife at the University College London Hospital (UCLH). During my amazing adventure as a midwife I have had the privilege to work on the birth centre and in the community setting, supporting and assisting families in over a hundred births, including both hypnobirthing and water births. Being there to witness and support couples in meeting their little one(s) is by far the most moving moments that I have been extremely blessed to be a part of. Through these experience's I became extremely passionate about the benefits of hypnobirthing, this brought me to train to become a teacher with the inspirational Katharine Graves.

This year myself and my husband welcomed our first child into the world, a little boy. We were so excited to be able to use hypnobirthing during our own birth after years of supporting others. I found it to be one of the most breathtaking experiences as a couple and was such an empowering way to meet our son.

I live in Sheffield and am a Mum of three. Before I came to hypnobirthing I spent 15 years working for the emergency services. My third child was my first hypnobirth and the difference between that and my previous births was astounding. I can say first hand that hypnobirthing absolutely works! So much so that it inspired me to become a KG hypnobirthing qualified teacher and help other women have the same experience. A big focus for me is educating Mums to be (and their partners) about their birth choices in order for them to make informed decisions about the birth they want. Hand in hand with this I focus on how to put these choices across to care providers so they can work with parents to achieve their wishes. I am open to everyone’s different ideas and needs. Whatever sort of birth you would like I would like to help you achieve it. For more info please see my website

I worked as a general and sick children's nurse and health visitor for many years, and especially loved teaching pregnant women and after the birth of their baby.  During the pregnancy and birth of my own 3 children, I read as much as I could and used breathing and visualisation techniques and know how powerful these can be.

After a few years as a Solicitor, I decided to train in Complementary Therapies, and since 2006 I qualified in Reflexology (including Maternity Reflexology), Reiki, EFT, Hypnotherapy, NLP and Hypnobirthing.  I learned just how powerful the Mind-Body connection is and how we can change our response or improve our health by thinking differently.

My aim is to bring Hypnobirthing as a technique of choice for as many women who wish to birth their babies in a more calm, positive and empowering way.  I look forward to working with you to make your baby's birth truly memorable.

My classes are available in Sheffield and Leicestershire.

As well as being a qualified nurse and midwife, having worked as a midwife for over 30 years, I am a mother of 3 grown up children.  I worked as a community midwife for 18 years and a caseload midwife for 10 of these caring for my families throughout their pregnancy, birth at home or in hospital and postnatally up until their baby was a month old.  a high number of the women on our caseload had their baby at home, but we also cared for women with more complex pregnancies in hospital.  Over the past 15 years I have qualified in a number of complementary therapies which I have incorporated into my midwifery practice, such as Massage, Shiatsu, Aromatherapy, Reflexology and teaching baby massage. I offered a course of baby massage to the team's families which I really enjoyed, especially as I could see the babies grow and develop after 1 month of age!  I also worked as a complementary therapy midwife with a colleague at the Jessop Wing hospital, one day a week for 7 years.

I now work on labour ward and love caring for famiies having their babies and feel passionate in promoting a positive birth experience.  Each birth is unique and I feel priveledged to be with the family at this special time.

I have now completed the Hypnobirthing course and feel excited about teaching this to couples.
