Hypnobirthing Yorkshire W - Teachers' Directory
After discovering hypnobirthing when I was pregnant with my first child I was intrigued. The more I read about it, the more convinced I was that I should try it.
A few months later and I had confidently and calmly brought my son into the world using all the techniques I had learnt when I took the course myself. I felt utterly empowered and amazed by how perfectly my body was made to give birth.
At this point I couldn't understand why every couple wasn't using these techniques to prepare for the birth of their child and wanted to spread the word. I realised perhapsthe best way to do this was to train as a hypnobirthing teacher myself.
I am already a teacher by trade, so teaching hypnobirthing seemed like the perfect fit for me, and so far I love teaching it.
I am a qualified practising midwife working in a busy maternity unit supporting women and their families in pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. I am also a licensed KG hypnobirthing teacher (DipHB KG) trained via the KG Hypnobirthing, accredited by the Royal College of Midwives.
I believe in the power of the mind and its ability to change how we view and tackle our experiences. I also strongly believe in the body’s ability to birth.
I am passionate about supporting women and their partners to be knowledgeable about pregnancy and become confident in their ability to birth and manage their birth experience, however challenging, in a positive way.
After giving birth to my own children (both under very different circumstances!) I became interested in how the mind controls the body and how we can accomplish so much more with the power of positive thinking. I gave up my career in secondary teaching and trained as a Hypnobirthing teacher with KG. I can honestly say I have never looked back. I love working with prospective parents and there is no better feeling than knowing that you have played your part in helping them to achieve the birth they want. To quote one father - Hypnobirthing just 'works' and that's why I am so passionate about sharing it with as many people as possible! Please feel free to contact me for more information on my courses.
My name is Annie Walker and I'm the mum of two beautiful children and a KG Hypnobirthing teacher. I used hypnobirthing techniques for both of my births as I couldn't understand why people were so keen to share negative stories when our bodies are designed to give birth naturally! I want to be able to share the experience I had with other parents to be so that they feel empowered, informed and in control and they can actually enjoy the wonderful experience of birth. I am also a qualified professional hypnotherapist registered with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council.
I am a fully qualified KG hypnobirthing teacher.
I am passionate about hypnobirthing since using it to birth my son in 2013.
I am also a fully qualified counsellor / therapist; a mother of 2 and an enthusiastic gardener and chicken keeper!
As a hypnotherapist and a mother having had two very different births, I was very excited to explore KG Hypnobirthing myself as it was so highly recommended by my Hypnotherapy tutor. Being a KG Hypnobirthing teacher is a privilege because it means that I am able to assist women in having an empowering birth experience and increase the likelihood of them having a calm and natural birth with little or no need of pain relief.
I was a State Registered Nurse with a wealth of experience running my own business in the healthcare industry. After supporting my own daughter through the birth of her first child I was amazed at the powerful effect hypnobirthing could have. My daughter had a great fear of childbirth from a very early age and her fear was completely overcome by a course of hypnobirthing. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl in a very calm and controlled way without the need of any pain controlled drugs or any medical intervention. This led me into my new and rewarding career change and I am delighted to be able to pass on my knowledge to couples in an enjoyable way. Being a hypnobirthing teacher means I can give couples the confidence that they can look forward to their babies birth by teaching them techniques that work effectively to reduce the fear of childbirth and increases the likelihood of having a natural birth with less need for pain relief.

Hi, I am Amanda, mother of 3 now grown up sons. I am a qualified midwife working with ‘One To One Midwives’ and have 25 years clinical experience – in hospitals and the community. I stumbled across hypnobirthing whilst at a homebirth 18 years ago, and was totally amazed at how calm and relaxed the woman laboured and gave birth to her first baby, without any pain relief or interventions!
I just had to find out more about this wonderful way of birthing and this led me to train as a hypnobirthing practitioner, originally in the Marie Mongan Method and more recently with the WiseHippo Birthing Programme and also with Katharine Graves.
