About Me
I am an experienced Psychotherapist and Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist, an a few years ago I heard about Hypnobirth!! I immediately felt that Hypnobirth was definitely something I needed to know more about! I often had mums to be in the clinic asking for help with their fears of giving birth. The best decision I have ever made. I googled Hypnobirth and within two months I was attending a teacher training course. I have attended another another course this year, and love teaching this technique to my mums and their birthing partners, helping them to birth their baby calmly and in control, just as they planned!

Why KG Hypnobirthing?
I am passionate about Hypnobirth and the definite difference the knowledge of this easy to learn technique makes to the planning and choice of how you are going to birth your precious baby. Calm informed mothers and their partners make for calm happy babies! Whether your birthing partner is your mother, sister, friend or indeed your life partner, or even a combination of all, I can teach you using all the techniques and understandings of exactly how your birthing body works. Even in between each lesson I am always there at the end of a phone with on going support to guide you on to your planned birth. Even afterwards most of my mums - and their partners- use my tapes and techniques to stay calm and healthy, incorporating it into their daily life.
Testimonials
Hi Helen
I just wanted to say thank you for all the hypnobirthing techniques you taught us! Our baby boy Edward John Hall was born 19th May in Bishop Auckland Midwifery Led Unit and is such a happy little chappy!
The relaxation techniques you taught us for onset of labour worked brilliantly and once in established labour I managed to block everything out and really concentrate on breathing without the fear I had during my first labour. My husband also said he felt more useful during this labour as when he could see me getting a bit panicked he knew what to say to bring me back down. I didn't realise how much he'd been listening during our lessons! I used gas and air and the birthing pool for pain relief, but unfortunately couldn't give birth in the pool due to Teddy's heart rate being a bit high.
I was most worried about the final stage of labour as I pushed for 1 hour and 45 minutes with my first and was exhausted. With this labour the final stage was only 3 minutes! I breathed him out!!
When he was born he didn't cry and the other midwives didn't even realise he'd been born we were both so quiet! He didn't cry for 2 days! I believe this is because I was so calm during the birth and pregnancy. Even now he only makes a noise when he wants feeding!
Thank you so much for everything you taught us! Hypnobirthing really does work!
Feel free to call in for a cuddle anytime!
Love From

Hi Helen,
Hope you are well? Please find attached my testimonial, sorry it's a bit late. I've also attached some pictures of Summer for you to look at.
After two tough labours, my girlfriend was obviously quite anxious about giving birth a third time. My brother and his wife had used HypnoBirthing for the birth of their first child and sung its praises highly. We decided to give it a go- nothing ventured, nothing gained.
A quick Internet search later and we found Helen, a local HypnoBirthing teacher. Before we signed up, Helen came to our house to talk to us about what to expect and what we would get out of the course. It was obvious from the minute we met her that she is hugely passionate about HypnoBirthing. We read her testimonials and decided there and then that she was the one for us. We had five sessions with her, all at our house, all very informal and relaxed.
Despite initially being sceptical, Nicola soon began to see that HypnoBirthing was going to work for her. The techniques used are nothing clever or difficult, they simply teach human beings how to give birth the way that they are designed to do so. A technique that for whatever reason has largely got lost in today's modern society. It also doesn't involve being hypnotised as the name would suggest. HypnoBirthing doesn't eliminate the pain and discomfort of child-birth but it does lessen it and make it managable.
We had a home birth and I know that being in familiar and comfortable surroundings also had a huge positive effect on the labour. Nicola remained in control of her body throughout the labour using the techniques that Helen had showed her. When the midwives showed up they didn't even think Nicola was in labour because she was so calm and relaxed. After the birth the midwives commented that they wished they had filmed the whole thing because from their point of view it was a textbook birth. Their only involvment was at the very end when baby popped out.
From a father's point of view, it was an absolutely amazing experience, an experience that I believe would have been entirely different without HypnoBirthing.
Regards,
Martin and Nicola
