About Me
I'm a mum of 4. I had my first baby in 2001 and that's when I became fascinated by pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding. I had assumed that it all just happened as nature intended but that's not quite how things went.
Then I saw friends having birth experiences that left them feeling traumatised, they struggled with breastfeeding and often didn't get the support they needed to overcome the challenges they faced. I didn't understand what was going so wrong, so I started reading and became involved with groups that support pregnant and new parents.
But I wanted to do more, so I started training as a Breastfeeding Counsellor after the birth of my second baby. I went on to become an Antenatal Teacher and KG Hypnobirthing Teacher as well.
I have worked with parents-to-be in both individual and group settings. I have supported parents in a wide range of situations, including twin pregnanices, pregnancies after a traumatic previous birth experience, IVF pregnancies, single parents and same-sex couples.
Why KG Hypnobirthing?
I love KG Hypnobirthing as it's a positive and gentle technique. It can help with all sorts of situations, including finding out that your baby is in the breech position, or during a gentle caesarean, as well as when you're planning a positive birth without interventions either at home or in hospital or a birth centre.
What I think is really valuable is that it involves full antenatal preparation for labour and birth, as well as the hypnobirthing techniques. This includes information for you and your partner, exploring things like how to optimise the hormones of labour, how your birth partner can really help and feel involved, what your options are regarding birthing your placenta etc. So I think it's a great holistic option to help you prepare for your birth.
I hope it will leave you feeling empowered and confident.

Courses
I offer one-to-one courses for you and your partner or birth partner, in your own home.
You can choose a standard KG Hypnobirthing course or an extended course, including breastfeeding and parenting preparation (I am also a lactation consultant). I can also offer a refresher if you have used hypnobirthing techniques before and are now pregnant again.
Courses can either involve evening sessions (approx 2 hours each), full days (approx 5-6 hours each) or a mixture of the two.
Courses cost from £250, depending on the length of the course you choose and your location.
If you would like to arrange a private course for a small group, such as an NCT group, this can also be arranged.
Courses are usually best completed when you are around 6-7 months pregnant, so that you have lots of time to practice the techniques before your baby is born. But it's never too late, so a last minute course can be arranged if you have only just discovered hypnobirthing and time is tight!
I mainly cover Worthing, Brighton, Shoreham, Littlehampton and the surrounding areas but can travel to other parts of Sussex.
