Rachel Bell – Rachel Bell Midwifery & Hypnobirthing

7 Chattan Drive, Nairn, Aberdeenshire IV12 4QR, Scotland

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Preparing for the arrival of your baby is an incredibly special time whether it’s your first or fifth baby! I am an experienced, practising midwife who provides antenatal classes and hypnobirthing classes (KGHypnobirthing) to parents and parents to be in Inverness, Nairn, Forres and surrounding areas. My classes are special because I offer midwife-led private, group and online classes, sharing my knowledge and experience as a midwife and mum to equip you with all the information you need for pregnancy, birth and those first few weeks with your baby and as new parents.

Location

I received my Midwifery degree with distinction in 2011 from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen before moving to London to work in a large maternity unit. The majority of my time was spent within the Midwifery Led Birthing Unit facilitating mostly waterbirths before caseloading my own antenatal women in the community. Fed up of city life I then relocated to village life, firstly in Surrey and now settled in Nairn, in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. With the move came a new job in in the surrounding community providing antenatal care, postnatal care, homebirths and antenatal education sessions to the women in my care. I qualified as a KG Hypnobirthing instructor in early 2017 after witnessing women using the techniques in labour. I was astounded at how calm, relaxed and confident they were for their own birth and it inspired me to try and provide these tools to the other women in my care going forward. I have also since used these skills for the births of my two children, Euan and Iris. I found that these skills were key to me achieving  relaxed and positive birth experiences, even with the need for a medical induction with my first birth.

In my spare time you can either find me on long walks with the kids accompanied by my busy Border Collie Pippa or tending to my chickens in the garden. I can’t wait to meet you all and support you on your very special journey.

We couldn’t have asked for any better support from Rachel during our Hypnobirthing course. I found knowing Rachel’s background was in Midwifery gave me even more confidence. My husband and I both enjoyed the sessions immensely, found the material very informative, Rachel to be personable and practical, and without a doubt gave me the mind power to stay as calm as possible during my labour in the birthing pool.

and I had a number of hypnobirthing classes with Rachel; they were so so worth it. She calmed our nerves and was incredibly knowledgeable. Her experience as a midwife was a massive plus for us and we felt we could immediately trust her to provide really valuable advice. We recommend Rachel to everyone!
