Charlotte Edgar – My Birth with Charlotte.

My name is Charlotte and I am a KG Hypnobirthing Teacher and Doula based in West Berkshire. I am also Mum to 3 wonderful children, wife to 1 wonderful husband and a complete & utter birth nerd! When I had my first baby 13 years ago my passion for pregnancy and birth was born and I knew that somehow I had to do something to support & empower women to go on to have the positive births that they deserved.. just like I had. My second birth was equally as calm, relaxed and magical (she was born in her sac!) and I was even more determined to change the negative mindset that so many pregnant women find themselves in – that birth is a medical event & is going to hurt! I then trained to be a Doula in 2010 and was privileged to support many women through their pregnancies, births and early days of motherhood. Baby number 3 wasn’t far behind and again my positive mindset, confidence, calm & relaxed attitude and understanding of the task ahead made for another quick, peaceful birth!! Being Mummy then took over my life and I had to put Doula duties on hold until my children became more independent… and then I discovered Hypnobirthing! I couldn’t believe it, it was everything I had believed in and had practised with my own babies with scientific evidence to back it up and even better.. I could become a teacher! I didn’t really have to consider it and soon trained to become a KG Hypnobirthing Teacher which is honestly the most wonderful “job” and I feel so lucky to be able to make a difference to pregnant women, their birth partners and their whole experience of pregnancy, birth and beyond.
