Hypnobirthing Bristol and Bath - Teachers' Directory
I'm a trained nurse and midwife and mother of three. As a midwife of 28 years I have experience in working in hospitals and Midwife led Units. For the last fourteen years I've worked as a Community midwife and have cared for many women having home births. I wish to help and support women and couples through the wonderful, awe inspiring, life changing event that childbirth is, however that is achieved.
I'm an experienced psychologist and Hypnobirthing mum of 3 with personal experience of birthing, both with and without hypnobirthing training.
I built my hypnobirthing practice following ten years plus NHS experience of course facilitation, specialising in CBT and Mindfulness based groups for all types of anxiety.
I can work with parent pairs, individual parents or with groups of parents and birth partners to overcome past experiences, fears and phobias and build confidence in your personal choices and unique birth preferences.
Please take a look at my website for detailed information about my skills and practice.
Whilst working on delivery suite I became interested supporting women who used Hypnobirthing, and was amazed how women were able to cope using the techniques. When I became pregnant I completed a course on Hypnobirthing and used it to amazing affect, I can honestly say that I don't think I would have coped as well without it. Now as a Community Midwife I've had the pleasure of supporting many women in their home who choose to use Hypnobirthing to further aid their relaxation.
Emma started teaching hypnobirthing after requests from her pregnancy yoga students, gained her hypnobirthing qualification with the Hypnobirthing Association and Katharine Graves and then put what she had learnt into practice during her own pregnancy and labour.
She completed her yoga teacher training with the Sivananda organisation and pregnancy training with Yoga Campus. She is also a qualified reflexologist, trained to the highest qualification level with the Central London College of Reflexologists and is also an Emergency First Response (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) Instructor Trainer.
She is fully insured and a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, the national voluntary regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners in the UK.
She is passionate about informing and empowering couples through her hypnobirthing courses to have a positive birthing experience which is uniquely right for them.
