Nanette Lyon, Mum and Hypnobirthing teacher, pleased to meet you. So a little about me. When I first found out I was pregnant I began a roller-coaster journey of emotions.... excitement , happiness, nervousness, and fear. Oh my, I actually have to have this baby! I can't give birth. I can't even watch an episode of Casualty , how on earth can I give birth? Oh and everyone says how painful it is, plus I watched "One Born every Minute" way too much!
I did my research and came across "hypnobirthing". Hmm....I thought. I can see how this may work and much to the sceptisism of my husband who thought I had completely gone "baby brain ga ga", I started my hypnobirthing journey.
I have never looked back! I arrived at hospital at 9am, expecting to be induced. By 11.17 I was holding my beautiful daughter Penelope in my arms. No induction,no gas/air and no drugs required. Much to my husband's surprise not even a raised voice, swear word or scream! He was converted there and then and is now my biggest advocate, "it works!" I heard him say , "it just works, I saw it!"
At the time the Midwives admitted I had taken them by complete surprise, saying they had no idea that I would give birth so calmly, relaxed and quickly.
My "secret weapon" I called it.... "Hypnobirthing". I had practiced and I was in the zone, mentally, "I can do this, I am designed to do this, I have got this". Honestly afterwards, I had to question what all the fuss is about with childbirth!
I want to share my experience with all women to show we really shouldn't fear birth. I think the information I teach to parents is invaluable, there is something that stops us questioning maternity procedures and there is no reason why this should be.
Having been an English & Media teacher in a senior school, I have a passion for teaching. I fully understand the power of words and being an avid yoga fan , I fully appreciate the state of the mind and relaxation.
With this passion to teach and share hypnobirthing it was destiny that I would retrain and open Lyoness Hynobirthing.
I look forward to meeting you!
Nanette Lyon, B.A.( Hons) P.G.C.E DipHB(KGH)

Are you hoping for a calm, comfortable and more enjoyable birth? Do you want to feel more in control of the birth of your baby?
Whatever kind of birth you’re planning – home birth, hospital, birthing centre – I can help.
I have a degree in English Literature and work as a publicist. I have over a decade’s worth of knowledge and experience in how words and language can be incredibly powerful tools in creating positive messages – a vital tool for hypnobirthing.
In 2016, while pregnant with my first child, I came across hypnobirthing. I was nervous about giving birth, having heard a lot of negative stories from relatives and friends, and was keen to try anything that might help. I loved hypnobirthing - it was incredibly relaxing, helped me to sleep well during the latter stages of pregnancy, and made me feel really excited about having my baby. Everything it taught made complete sense, and no part of it felt odd or strange. It also made a real difference for me on the day my daughter arrived.
I became a fully qualified hypnobirthing teacher in 2017, training with the Royal College of Midwives accredited KG Hypnobirthing programme. KG Hypnobirthing is the original UK Hypnobirthing course, which is designed especially for mothers in the UK. The course is constantly evolving to keep up-to-date with the latest evidence and research.

My name is Kate Waithe and I live with my husband, Darren and son Reuben in Hazel Grove, Cheshire. I had my son 18 months ago and used hypnobirthing to bring him into the world!
I am a qualified midwife with over 13 years experience working in the NHS. My current role is as a Practice Based Educator for Maternity.
I live in the Stockport area and I am a wife to Paul and mummy to William and Poppy.
Hello, my name is Carole and I have been trained to teach the Katherine Graves method of Hynobirthing. I am a practicing midwife and qualified complementary therapist. I am employed part time within the NHS as a midwife, working at the local birth centre and I run my business Optimum Birthing, which provides complementary therapies for pregnant mums. I feel very privileged to be able to accompany women and their partners through the final part of their childbirth journey. For me, to be part of that special moment when they finally meet their baby for the first time is truly magical. I live with my husband Chris in Macclesfield, our two grown up children have flown the nest and set up homes of their own nearby. I really wish that hypnobirthing had been around at the time of their births, as I know that I would have loved hypnobirthing my babies.
In 2007 I began to look at options to support women in labour. I completed a hypnobirthing practitioner course which enabled me to see the benefits of relaxation on the way in which women give birth. Following on from my training I became a registered midwife with a keen interest in supporting normality. During my midwifery training I received a valedictory award for excellence in clinical practice which reflected my passion for supporting women and their birth partners through the life changing experience of labour and beyond. In 2008 I got to use the hypnobirthing methods first hand with the birth of my son. The immense feeling of elation and empowerment I felt after the birth made me even more determined to share my experience with other women to allow them to have the best possible birth experience. Leading on from Hypnobirthing I began to look at other methods of supporting normality and completed a training program to use moxibustion, aromatherapy and massage in pregnancy. As well as teaching hypnobirthing I have also undertaken a training to offer professional hypnotherapy for a variety of phobias and addictions including smoking cessation and healthy lifestyle choices. I enjoy seeing women and their partners actually look forward to the birth of their baby and feel blessed in my role to support them.
Our accredited hypnobirthing teachers in Cheshire will give you the confidence to know you will find someone qualified who we trust to help you achieve the birthing of your baby that you are looking for.
Hypnobirthing is a recognised method of natural childbirth which promotes a far more calm birthing through the teaching of hypnosis techniques to relax the mother. This reduces the likelihood of intervention through pain relief and also results in a more relaxed, less stressed, baby.
All of the teachers have trained in an RCM accredited KG Hypnobirthing Teacher Training and have been assessed prior to receiving accreditation from us, to ensure they meet the highest standards we demand of all our practitioners. This ensures they are highly experienced in teaching hypnobirthing methods to expectant mothers, so you can feel you are in very safe hands.
All of our members sign up to our set of core principles when they join us, demonstrating their commitment to promoting quality hypnobirthing practices. They are all also strong advocates of complementary birthing techniques who are keen to see natural childbirth grow in popularity among mothers about to give birth.
