About Me

Welcome to GOODBIRTH KGHypnobirthing. Having the right support and finding up to date practical information through your pregnancy, will help you feel more relaxed and prepared for your birth. As a Doula, a former Midwife and a qualified Nursery Nurse I have over 25 years experience working with families and supporting births. GOODBIRTH aims to ensure that ALL parents feel safe, respected, informed and in control, wherever and whatever their circumstances. Everyone has different needs, and a private course can be  individual to you, answering your personal concerns and focusing on your birth preferences. 

I was privileged to attend a course at The Farm Midwifery Centre in Tennessee, USA, with the acclaimed midwife and author Ina May Gaskin and her colleagues. What I learned there shaped my Midwifery practice and continues to influence my practice as a Doula and Hypnobirthing teacher. I have complete respect for and belief in a woman’s ability to give birth naturally without intervention. If a pregnancy or labour takes a different path, and a woman does require obstetric care, Hypnobirthing will help them to feel confident and in control of their choices.

I have worked in NHS trusts and Birth Centres, with experience in homebirths, water births, births on the labour ward and in Theatre. I support pregnancies under obstetric care, including VBAC (vaginal birth after Caesarean), IVF pregnancies, multiple births, and any medical concerns.

I am a Mum of three grown up daughters and was delighted to support my eldest daughter at the births of both her babies! I am a proud Nana! This has also deepened my understanding of the needs of new parents. I chose to leave Midwifery to focus on giving true one to one care as Doula. I trained with Nurturing Birth and am a recognised Birth Doula registered with Doula UK.

Why KG Hypnobirthing?

Goodbirth KGHypnobirthing offers a complete antenatal preparation course over 10-12 hours over either 2, 3 or 4 sessions depending on course location. It is a holistic approach to antenatal education. You will learn how your body works during the stages of labour, the effect of hormones and the importance of feeling in control. You will learn relaxation, visualisation and breathing techniques to help you feel calm and confident, whatever kind of birth you have. This practical course includes information about pregnancy and early labour, birth stages, positions in labour, early days with your baby, feeding and caring for your baby, and so much more. It can be individualised to suit your specific needs and is for all births, and all women. You will also receive the KGHypnobirthing handbook and a CD or download free, access to GOODBIRTH support via email/phone.

Courses

Courses are available for you privately (birth partner free) at your home or place you feel comfortable. Group courses are available at Solstice Studio, Brixham.
