Hypnobirthing East Sussex - Teachers' Directory
I'm Kerry van Wensveen. I trained as a teacher of hypnobirthing with Katharine Graves at the Hypnobirthing Centre in London. I also have an Advanced Diploma in Integrated hypnotherapy and an NLP Practitioner Certificate. This enables me to bring my hypnotherapy experience into my teaching as I have a deeper understanding of the power of the mind and what it can achieve. Many of the techniques used in hypnotherapy are the same as those used for achieving a calm, relaxed and drug-free birth. Giving birth is a natural empowering experience and all women should be able to do this naturally, without fear and unnecessary intervention.
The birth of my second daughter was by planned c-section and by using relaxation techniques I was able to remain calm, focussed and in control throughout the whole procedure, and because I was relaxed and focussed I was able to bond with my daughter immediately. A bond that is strong and will remain so always. Because of my experience I am a true believer that any woman can hypnobirth in any situation, calmly and without fear, and it is my absolute privilege to teach hypnobirthing to all expectant mums.
My background is as a CIPD and NLP qualified personal development trainer, which I have been doing for the last 20 years.
Many of the techniques I use to help people become more confident are the same as those I use as a Hypnobirthing teacher; breathing, visualisations, positive affirmations, relaxation techniques and many more. Giving birth without fear is about re-training your mind to think positively about it. On my KG Hypnobirthing course you will learn skills to support you during your labour and birth and your understanding and practice of these techniques will also be invaluable tools in many other areas of your life.
I used these techniques to birth my own children and I can honestly say that each of their births were the most empowering moments of my life.
I believe every expectant mother should give herself the gift of knowing that this is possible for her too.
I strongly believe that too many women are not having the positive birth experience they deserve. They don't have access to accurate information which allows them to remain in control and make the best decisions for their baby and body. I want to change this, which is why I have trained to become a Professional Hypnobirthing Practiioner with Katharine Graves.
My hypnobirthing journey began back in 2005 when I fell pregnant with my first child. After being subjected to many horror stories of birth and overwhelmed by the choice of antenatal classes, I was so relieved to come accross a course that taught me that birth could be calm, powerful and rewarding and not something that I just had to get through. Using hypnobirthing techniques during both of my pregnancies not only allowed me to remain calm and in control but it also allowed me to enjoy my pregnancies and make the most of these amazing times in my life. This has fuelled my desire to want to to help other women learn about the tremendous benefits these methods can bring to your own birthing experience.
Hypnobirthing is my passion. It is such a privilege to be part of other peoples birthing journeys. I have 2 children, I used Hypnobirthing for the birth of both. I therefore speak from the heart when I say what life changing, empowering experience it can be.I took up Hypnobirthing because I wanted others to enjoy the same wonderful experience as me. I trained with Katharine Graves, whose course is aimed at the UK market. I have a Diploma in Hypnobirthing from the Hypnobirthing Centre, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Integrated Hypnotherapy and an NLP Practitioner certificate. I bring my Hypnotherapy experience into my teaching and provide support up to and beyond the birth of your baby.
My aim is to enable as many women as possible to have a positive, life changing birth experience.
Trained Member of Hypnobirthing Association with 10 years experience as Maternity Support Worker in NHS.
Giving Mums care during antenatal, delivery and postnatal stages of their stay in hospital. Also Breastfeeding support in Community.
Trained therapist in Reflexology, Reiki, Bach Flower Remedies. Most important qualification is being a Mum to my five wonderful children.
I became interested in Hypnobirthing after watching couples having Hypnobirths at the hospital where I work I was amazed how relaxed the Mums were during labour.
I trained with Katharine Graves in London, and found the course completely empowering. My teaching is the Katharine method of Hypnobirthing.
During my classes we will explore the relaxation methods and techniques that can be used to help you relax during your pregnancy, labour, and after your baby has been born. We talk about why, if you are relaxed in labour it makes such a difference to both you and your baby during birth.
Classes are informative and fun, please call for more details.
