Roma Hearsey – Wilder Hypnobirthing

1 Brookside Cottages Southease, Lewes, East Sussex BN7 3HX, England

I’m a busy doula, mentor & a Spinning Babies Certified Parent Educator. My speciality is the sweet spot where hypnobirthing means your mind is calm & happy & biomechanics education means your body is ready & balanced, with your baby in an optimal position. I’ve supported over 100 families & I’m a mum of three myself; all boys & all born at home. I didn’t start using hypnobirthing techniques myself until my third labour. I was late to the party, but I’m having it now!

I’m a birth nerd. A permaculture fan. A dabbler in playing music & songwriting. My happy places are in nature, in the birth room, or teaching. I used to teach English, but birth education is a much richer and more meaningful thing. I’m also a retreat & festival caterer & the current holder of the ‘best cake at Glastonbury Festival’ award. I live in the countryside near Brighton with my children, partner & dog.

Taking Roma’s hypnobirthing course was the best decision I made for my pregnancy, my birth and my baby. I knew hypnobirthing would help but I didn’t realise to what extent. My birth exceeded my expectations of how a birth could go. The techniques I learnt massively supported me through the later part of my pregnancy, my labour and then birth. I can honestly say I can’t wait to give birth again. I hold the entire experience of birthing my baby so close to my heart. I didn’t experience pain in labour, only sensations and I’m a first time mum.

Taking Roma’s hypnobirthing course was even better than I imagined. I had read about hypnobirthing and knew it was going to be great but Roma’s incredible experience and way of teaching exceeded my expectations. It was so helpful to stay calm and focused, not just during a birth that didn’t go according to plan, but also in the months before. Both my husband and I learned to stand up for the birth we wanted and let go of what we couldn’t control, which isn’t something we expected to get out of the course.

I’m a first time mum and when there were no midwives available for our home birth, I transferred to hospital, gave birth in the pool & was back home in my bed that night.

I would recommend giving Roma Hearsey Doula a call, even if just for reassurance or tips. She is Spinning Babies trained and if it wasn’t for a manoeuvre she asked the midwife to try at the last minute in my labour for awkward positioning I’m fairly sure I would have ended up an emergency c-section.
