About Me
I am a registered midwife, KGHypnobirthing instructor, former university lecturer, mother of two girls, and resident of Highams Park.
I have a first class honours degree in midwifery from King’s College London. My dissertation was on women’s experience of a diagnosis of tongue-tie. My training was at St. Thomas’ Hospital, where I currently work part-time. I had a lovely homebirth with my second daughter while I was a student.
Before training as a midwife I was a university researcher and senior lecturer in education development. I have lots of experience of qualitative research – talking to people about their experiences – in the context of healthcare and learning, and learning for healthcare practice. I had my first daughter at Whipps Cross Hospital while I was a researcher, just completing a project looking at teamworking on delivery suites.
I am a feminist and am deeply passionate about supporting women, managing expectations, smoothing the transition to motherhood and helping women to make informed choices. By teaching couples with KGHypnobirthing I aim to empower women to have a calm, comfortable and positive birth.
