I began my training as a doula with Nurturing Birth Doulas in June 2019 following the birth of my daughter in 2018. Her birth came after several years of infertility, IVF and pregnancy loss.

Once I was ready to believe that I finally was going to have a baby, I put everything into finding out all that I could about pregnancy and birth. I undertook Active Birth and Hypnobirthing courses and practiced the techniques. I was determined to not let the birth of my child be defined by the medical intervention that defined her conception. As IVF pregnancies are often categorised as ‘high risk’, this was not straightforward. However, I did end up having an extremely positive birth experience, one that I believe may not have been possible if I hadn’t prepared in the way that I did and hypnobirthing was a key aspect of this.

After the birth, I immediately knew that I was not ready to leave that world behind and wanted to support others going through pregnancy, birth and new parenthood. I decided to train as adoula and immediately knew that I wanted to be able to provide KGHypnobirthing to my clients, this having made such a significant impact on my own birth experience.

I am a registered midwife with over 31 years’ experience in midwifery. I worked for almost 15 years at a North London NHS Trust. I have always been passionate about normality and I was instrumental in setting up the midwife led unit at the North London Trust. Working in partnership with women and their families is key to maternity services and providing good care. I became involved in the Maternity Voice Partnership in my role as a Professional Midwifery Advocate.

Whilst KG Hypnobirthing may not guarantee a natural birth it will empower you and your partner/family to make informed decisions about place of birth, your care and your birth. KG Hypnobirthing course will help prepare you for a positive birth experience and beyond birth. I am pleased to offer 1 to 1 courses and group courses

My passion is holistic therapies and I am also a mindfulness instructor, a reiki therapist, spiritual healer and I am an expert in professional supervision.

I'm a registered midwife with a passion for holistic education for women and their families. As a midwife I understand the importance of educating women and their partners about pregnancy, labour and birth. I enjoy empowering couples to make informed decisions about their care, explaining the risks, benefits and alternatives in order to support them in whatever choices they make. This passion for educating and empowering women inspired me to train as a KGHpnobirthing teacher.

I support women to give birth wherever, whenever and whatever way that might be. I hope to use my skills and knowledge as a registered midwife to promote the KGHypnobirthing philosophy to help women let go of any fear, assumptions and preconceptions of birth and through practice, build their confidence so that they can simply let their body do what it’s designed to do and give birth calmly, confidently and positively.

Sacha has a broad range of experience. Having initially gained a degree in psychology, she then trained as a registered nurse and has over a decade of experience in the NHS, building connections and delivering education to members of the public.

Whilst still passionate about helping people, in recent years Sacha has shifted to a more holistic way of achieving this, through yoga, meditation, life-coaching and hypnobirthing. She is trained in pregnancy yoga, yoga for birth preparation and KG Hypnobirthing, and has a true passion for empowering women to have the birth experience that they want.

Coming from a healthcare background means that it is important to Sacha that she can always back up her teachings with evidence and/or logic, and that she can always find a way of communicating effectively with the person in front of her.

I have always found women, pregnancy, birth and babies awe-inspiring and I believe bringing a brand new little person into the world is one of the most amazing things a woman can do. I believe in your innate capacity to birth and care for your baby; you are powerful! It is my absolute pleasure to care for mums and babies and my job is to encourage you to know your own strength and capability, that which is there in all of us. Every woman has the right to feel safe, relaxed and cared for and this enables the best possible birth experience and helps with the early attachment process. I also believe every woman has the right to choose how and where she births her baby whenever possible; I support your decision, be it a home birth, birth centre or hospital. So, a bit about me...I love my job! It is a real privilege to support families on such a precious journey. I love being outside in the sunshine, reading a great book with a ridiculously huge skinny caramel latte (and the odd cake here and there...). I enjoy my "me-time" and I also love to spend time with my wonderful friends going for dinner (Fondue night, dinner parties at mine, Mexican, Diner... I'm not a foodie, honestly) and also relaxing with my wonderful partner of eight years, Steve, at home, and spending time with my family. I may be getting old as I've really got into going for a slow walk everyday lately and looking at the trees (I never thought I'd see the day!) Oh, and I love a good box-set and my wild vice is...wait for it...aromatherapy candles. Whoooooo!

I have been an advocate of Hypnobirthing since 2010 when I commenced my midwifery training and have been teaching Hypnobirthing since 2016I was so relieved to find how logical and simple the practice was and how in keeping is was with my values. Hypnobirthing honours birthing peoples body’s and experiences. My approach nurtures that inner trust that our body knows what it needs to do. It empowers your support people to understand and trust your body and capabilities, so that they have the confirdence to support you. The tools you will learn are transferrable to ALL birth experiences, pysiological and if you need the support from the medical team.

It is unfortunate that our modern society has conditioned us to believe that birth is painful, scary, dramatic and that we have no control over it. Through my years of supporting women through this rite of passage and through my own two beautiful empowering births I have come to believe the opposite.

We have control over EVERYTHING. This is a topic I love to explore through my classes. It is down to us to take bold actions and take responsibility for this momentous journey.

I truly believe that our body will only give us what we can handle. I felt this deeply in my birth’s with Pia and Wren. They were pretty textbook but by no means a walk in the park. I still needed to dig deep into my soul to connect with my own power to overcome my fears and talk myself down when everything felt to much.

I feel called to highlight that there is no “right” way to birth your baby.

As a midwife I often see different births held in higher esteem than others. This is why I make a conscious effort to explain my main goal for every couple that joins any of The Birth Group’s programs, (but especially in Hypnobirthing) is for you to have a POSITIVE BIRTH EXPERIENCE. An experience that you felt respected, supported and held. An experience you had full control over, were able to be aware of what you needed and how you were able to share these needs with your care providers. An experience where your birth partner felt like they were an essential member of the team, not just watching from the side-lines.

In light of this I designed this course to specifically target these topics and work them into a practical guide that can support you both to embrace the journey with love and trust.

I came to hypnobirthing quite by chance as an anxious mum-to-be and it completely transformed my experience of pregnancy, birth and motherhood.  I am now passionate about sharing my experience and knowledge with other mums-to-be and families to empower them to have a similar fantastic, calm and positive experience.

I have taught over 50 couples and my passion for empowering women in pregnancy, birth and motherhood only continues to grow.

I have seen the difference that hypnobirthing makes in my own birthing experiences and of those that I have introduced to hypnobirthing. The techniques that I will teach you will give you the tools to have the positive, empowering, calm and comfortable birth that you want.

Also as a qualified hypnotherapist, I can help you focus on the fact that you are coping with the situation, get rid of the fear, tension, and pain in labour by teaching relaxation, breathing, and visualisation techniques.

Hypnobirthing London

Hypnobirthing produces effective, more stress-free childbirth to the mother and baby through the use of hypnosis methods to create relaxation.  Our teachers are here to teach and support you, so that you can achieve this relaxation during your birthing for you and your baby.

Countrywide Membership

We have teachers throughout Central London and Greater London, which means that wherever you live in the capital, you should be able to find someone who can support you and teach you hypnobirthing techniques for when you give birth.  Each of them has been trained and assessed by us, so you can rest assured that whoever you choose, you will receive the best levels of support possible.  If you wish to join a course with Katharine Graves she teaches once a month at St Thomas' Hospital.  You can find out more details about her London Hypnobirthing classes here.

Our Core Principles

Each of our teachers also adheres to our code of practice, embracing ethics and best practice when teaching natural childbirth techniques, to enhance birthing for mothers.  We also ask them to promote hypnobirthing and natural childbirth, if they do not do so already, to help make it a more widespread choice for a mother and to become more widely understood, generally.
