My inspiration to become a natural childbirth educator/Hypnobirthing teacher comes from my own birthing experience. After my wonderful, natural, pain-free and drug-free Hynobirthing experience, I wanted my friends and fellow women to experience the same joy and bliss of natural birth. I did my diploma in HypnoBirthing from the Hypnobirthing Centre UK (the KG method) accredited by the Royal College of Midwives, UK. I am a science graduate with a Masters Degree in Applied Microbiology which helps me understand the biology behind birthing. I also hold a Diploma in Nutrition. I hail from the corporate world of scientific publishing like Thomson Reuters & BioMed Central (Springer). I am well aware of the corporate culture; the work life and personal life balance for parents-to-be. I have designed my courses to accommodate these practical challenges of the day to day living. I am working hard to ensure every woman across the globe is made aware of this calm, safe, comfortable and delightful birthing experience for herself and her baby.

“Hypnobirthing is the most wonderful empowering experience that parents can bestow upon their unborn baby, bringing them into the world gently, calmly and naturally". I run group or individual sessions which are broken down into practical and theory , there is plenty of laughter and I am very approachable and friendly and have many "Hypnobabies in London and Bedfordshire area". I believe in evidence based practice and I continually strive for excellence and attend  KG Hypnobirthing refresher courses and link with local antenatal services including the NHS and NCT, giving talks and attending active birth workshops. If parents remain skeptical please try a taster hour session which answers many of your Hypnobirthing question's and parents can experience a relaxation session !

My name is Michelle Pearson, I am based in Homerton in Hackney, East London and became a fully qualified Hypnobirthing Practitioner in 2006,  training originally with the American Mongan Method and then updated my training with the more UK based KGHypnobirthing.  I have helped hundreds of couples achieve a calm, comfortable and gentle birth for themselves and their babies, in Hackney, Walthamstow, Forest Gate, Stratford, Leyton, Stoke Newington, Islington and beyond!

I became interested in birth after having my own two children, Ella and George who are now officially grown-ups - time has flown! My first pregnancy was thrilling, I loved being pregnant and feeling all the amazing changes taking place in my body. Ella’s birth was at home, eight hours long and although a good experience, compared to many, it was intense from the start and I didn’t really have the understanding or the tools to support myself and so it took a long time to recover physically and emotionally.  Leading up to my second birth I felt more fearful - would I be able to do it again?  It was another home birth but this time much quicker and with my body’s previous birthing experience, I was able to let go and feel the power of my body. I felt exhilarated and so proud of myself after George’s birth.

At that time, I began to realize how fearful we as women can become as we get closer to giving birth. I wanted to find a way of helping more women feel empowered and confident in their body’s natural ability. I began to dream of working in the birthing world and to be able to help women, their partners and babies have a more positive experience at this life changing time. (my grandmother was a midwife in India - perhaps it's in my genes!)

One day, whilst working in my job as a Production Manager on a women’s magazine, a chance conversation with a colleague and friend, led me to find out about Hypnobirthing. It’s philosophy and common sense approach reflected my own instinctive feelings of how birth could be and soon after I found myself training to become a Hypnobirthing Practitioner. Since then I have helped hundreds of couples have calm, confident, positive birth experiences.

I am committed to continuously updating my skills by attending birth workshops, courses and lectures.  I have also trained with Michel Odent known for his role in promoting natural birth and water birth.  I completed my Doula training with 'Developing Doulas' in 2013 and became a recognised Birth Doula with Doula UK.

I hold a Practitioner Diploma in Integrative Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy and a Certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Hypnosis and NLP.

Before training as a Hypnobirthing teacher I spent 10 years working as a fashion buyer, buying kids clothes. I loved my job, meeting lots of interesting people and presenting kids wear collections… But after having my girl, I was totally and completely inspired by the realisation that birth didn’t have to be something to be feared, but truly enjoyed and embraced. It drove me to rethink everything and I made the decision to make it my job to teach that.

I decided to extend my knowledge as a yoga teacher specialised in pregnacy by becoming an KGHypnobirthing teacher. I offer the mum-to-be a peaceful time to reinforce the knowldege about her body, pregnancy and birth, achieving confidence, calm and serenity, creating a healthy pregnancy and subsequently a wondeful birth experience for her and her baby.

I'm origallly from Mexico and have been based in London for the last 16 years, where my yoga practice and personal development journey started.

I gained my Ashtanga Vinyasa Teacher certification in Thailand with Lorraine Taylor, focusing on female bodies and energies. I hold a Yoga Alliance US accreditation (RYT200). I furthered my teacher training becoming a Pregnancy Yoga Teacher with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Restorative Yoga Teacher with Judith Lasater, where my passion for creating nurturing spaces for mothers to be was awaken.

I'm the founder of the women's circle: "Journey Into Motherhood", an intimate gathering where mums to be are invited to share and express their emotional experiences through pregnancy, taking time to slow down, connect within and journal what pregnancy and their babies are unfolding for them.
