Love Story Birth
Hi, my name is Katrina, and I teach Hypnobirthing in East London. I hold group classes at two lovely studios in Bow and Dalston and teach privately in the surrounding area as well. Please get in touch if you're interested in a course or have any questions.
I live in East London with my husband, Emerson, and our two children, Hudson and Harper. I grew up in the beautiful, wide open spaces of Montana and then moved to sunny California to get my BSc in human biology from the University of California, San Diego. I moved across the pond to East London in 2013. I love it here-the creativity, the diversity, the community. Both of my children were born here using Hypnobirthing, which gave me a lot of comfort and confidence throughout my pregnancies and births. In a time of uncertainty, I appreciated the clearly laid out practices and how transformative it was to learn about our amazing bodies-that I shouldn't be afraid to do something our bodies have been doing for hundreds of generations. Many women experience pain free births, could I not try to do the same? I realised it would take work as I didn't already believe in the possibility of a comfortable birth at the time. Both births were empowering and incredible, and one was even pain free (both natural, and both big babies!). In addition to teaching Hypnobirthing, I teach yoga as well. I'm lucky that my work consists of teaching things that I have felt the true benefits of, and my passion for what I teach drives me to keep learning and refining what I share with others.
What drew me to KGHypnobirthing was actually the feedback I read on social media when I was searching for positive birth stories in preparation for my own births. I also saw Katharine Graves responding personally to comments and questions from teachers and pregnant women alike. Aside from being an active part of the Hypnobirthing community, she is an advocate for women and our natural, powerful ability to give birth to our babies (who at the same time appreciates our access to inverventions that are sometimes medically neccesary). KGHypnobirthing is a supportive community, and it teaches everything in a way that is simple and logical. In a time that can be filled with uncertainty for many women, this supportive, powerful and easy to follow approach is a relief, building confidence and joy through the process.
My next KGHypnobirthing course is at a lovely yoga studio in Dalston, Yoga On The Lane, from 1:30-5:30 on two consecutive Saturdays, December 7th and 14th. I keep the groups small so we have time to address everyone's questions, and I can be the most supportive to you. You can book via www.yogaonthelane.com. Please email me if you have any questions.
