On my work as a doula, having accompanied women and couples in very varied settings and reflecting back on some of these experiences, I learnt how hypnobirthing can make a difference and decided to train as a hypnobirthing teacher.
Currently I co-facilitate the Reading Positive Birth group as I am a firm believer on the importance of bringing positivity around childbirth.
Please get in touch if you are interested in hypnobirthing and antenatal preparation :)

Hi I'm Siobhan! I was lucky enough to find hypnobirthing during my first pregnancy, which meant that I had an amazing, positive experience of labour and birth. It had such a profound impact on me that ever since, I have been birth obsessed. I am totally fascinated by it and amazed by what the incredible female body is built to do. I'm completely in awe of mothers everywhere – no matter how their babies got into this world, I've got the utmost respect for them all.
That being said, I finds it upsetting that so many women come away from birth feeling traumatised by their experience. It doesn’t have to be this way!
Hypnobirthing arms you with the knowledge and tools you need to prepare for a calm, gentle birth for you and your baby. Knowledge leads to choice, choice leads to control, and control leads to confidence and empowerment, something that I am passionate about. I truly believe that women shouldn’t walk away from birthing their baby feeling that they were powerless throughout the whole process.
So that's my story... let's start yours today!
Whilst pregnant with my first child I was drawn to hypnobirthing because, as a midwife, I needed to quiet my mind, leave my inner midwife outside the door and just be able to concentrate on having a baby. This has worked well for my family for both of my birthing experiences and I am so excited to be offering this to other families.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! My journey to becoming a hypnobirthing teacher began in 2012 when I was pregnant with my first daughter, I was completely in awe of the changes happening to my body and I devoured every bit of information I could about pregnancy, labour and birth - from then on I was hooked. Now, as a mother of two I am passionate about helping women and couples to achieve the birth they deserve and to spread the word about how empowering, positive and joyful birth can really be. I offer group and private courses in Woodstock, Oxfordshire and in Southern Spain. Please do get in touch with me via the email above or find me on social media @aboutmybirth if you’d like to know more.
First of all - Congratulations on your pregnancy!!
Second of all - it's fantastic that you are looking into a hypnobirthing course. Your upcoming birth is the most important event of your future, and it's well worth preparing for. I wish I had known about hypnobirthing during my pregnancies. My career as a midwife has enabled me to witness the benefits of hypnobirthing firsthand. So much so, that I trained to become a teacher, to enable more women and their families to experience a positive labour and birth.
When a baby is born, so is a mother, and an empowering birth is a perfect start to parenthood.
Hi, my name is Natalie. I qualified as a midwife in 2010 via Oxford Brooke's University. Prior to this I was an Adult nurse. I'm now a practising community midwife which I have been doing since 2012.
I am passionate about providing exceptional care for mummies, their babies and families through the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods.
My name is Cathryn and I am a Clinical Psychologist by day and a passionate hypnobirthing mum all the time! Hypnobirthing supported both me and my partner to have a calm and relatively short labour, despite being a first time mum and needing to be induced. We look back with great fondness on this time, which brought us closer together. I am now keen to spread the hypnobirthing joy to everyone I can!
Please contact me for further information or if you just want to discuss if hypnobirthing is right for you.
