Hypnobirthing Scotland - Teachers' Directory
Hi, my name is Agnes, I'm a qualified mental health nurse and mindfulness teacher with 7 years of experience. I started a wellbeing business in 2018, specialising in one-to-one anxiety management, self-compassion coaching and talking therapy. I was profoundly affected by the birth of my cousin's baby using hypnobirthing. Beautiful baby India was born gently and easily at home in September 2018. Following this experience, I decided to add hypnobirthing to my list of services. My Mum and I teach KGHypnobirthing together. We're very close and I couldn't have asked for a more supportive and loving role model. I am yet to have children of my own but hearing the wonderful stories of people who have used hypnobirthing it seems like a no-brainer. I'm very excited at the thought of putting the theory into practice at some point in the future. For now, I have the honour of teaching a fantastic birth preparation course.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm delighted to offer KGHypnobirthing courses for expectant parents at this excitng (and sometimes nervewracking) time. As an experienced hypnotherapist, and practitioner/trainer of various energy healing therapies, my background is in holistic wellbeing, and I am fascinated by the mind's capacity to shape our experience. I'm also naturally quite sceptical, and enjoy research and learning in order to better understand and practice the most beneficial techniques available, which is what led me to use breathing and visualisation techniques during my first labours (many years ago), and to look for more specific training for birth preparation as part of my ongoing learning. I'm a mother of three (with a fourth baby due early autumn 2019), and have experienced both hospital and home births, and the varying approaches to pregnancy and labour over the 20-year span between my first and current pregnancies. I feel it is hugely important for parents-to-be to receive all the information, support and respect appropriate to a life experience as significant as the birth of a child, and see my role in offering the course as laying out as much information, and as many helpful techniques as possible to facilitate a truly positive experience of birth. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions you might have about the course, or hypnobirthing generally.
My name is Ellie and I am the mother to a beautiful little boy. When I was pregnant, I didn’t know much abut being pregnant and I knew even less about giving birth. I just thought I would ‘wing it’. I did pretty much that and although my induced labour wasn’t too bad all I thought about after was why? There were so many questions. Why was I really induced? Why was it needed or was it procedure? Why were my waters broken for me? So many whys. I realised that because I didn’t know very much, I was led through my labour and not given the opportunity to ask for what I wanted. As a keen yogi I started up my own successful YoagBellies business when my little boy was 6 months as I didn’t want to go back to work as a flight attendant. Through years of continual training and development in the pre and post-natal world I discovered that you actually have a voice (the very one I didn’t have in my own labour). With this ever growing knowledge gradually over the years my pregnancy yoga classes became antenatal classes with their own dose of Hynpobirthing without me even realising it. It was then I decided to train as a Hypnobirther to add that other little touch of magic to what I teach. So here I am helping women and their birth partners seek a calm and confident birth experience and be fully informed of their options. My goal is to empower you through confidence and knowledge by providing you with the all important pregnancy toolbox, and positive mindset you need.

A big hello and congratulations on your pregnancy! I have a passion for helping women to realise their potential. All mothers have a natural inbuilt ability to birth their babies and I am keen to empower you to unlock this inner strength. I see too many women in pregnancy and labour who are afraid of the birth that awaits them and it is wrong for something so natural to cause such stress and anxiety. I want women to be excited to meet their unborn baby and I know that giving you the information you need to make choices and prepare will do just that. I am blown away by the power the mind has over the body and I want to share this power with you to show that if you can think it, you can do it. Giving birth calmly and confidently is no different to any other activity you have encountered in life. Having become a parent myself and working as a midwife I can relate to the uncertainty of what lies ahead, but also draw on my experiences to show that it can be done and it is done daily around the world because our bodies were designed to work with us not against us.
My name is Clare and I am mother to two wonderful boys, Ruairidh and Oliver. I live in rural Aberdeenshire with my husband and two dogs. Having spent three years telling everyone about hypnobirthing, I decided that I would train to become a KGHypnobirth Teacher as it's something that I am so incredibly passionate about. I discovered hypnobirthing whilst pregnant with my eldest. I was unsure of what to expect from the experience of labour and birth, having attended hypnobirthing classes myself I can honestly say that all the fears and uncertainty I had completely disappeared.
I have been a midwife for 5 years and first came into contact with hypnobirthing 2 years ago. I have worked in 2 different health boards. One of which is a standalone birthing unit. This unit provided care to women who had no complications and were keen to have as natural a birth as they could achieve. Therefore many women adopted that school of hypnobirthing as a method to allow a natural birth. I watched with wonder as many women came through our doors in so much control and with so much knowledge on pregnancy and birth. I watched gentle, calm, uncomplicated birth unfold with little to no aid from myself. It was inspirational even to be a part of; hence the reason I became a hypnobirthing teacher. I want all women to have this experience and be able to feel empowered for their pregnancy and most importantly birth.
I am Janine, or Neen and I have one son Olaf who is my Valentine's baby and coming up to being 3 years old.
During my pregnancy I used hypnobirthing techniques with great success, and felt informed enough so that when I was speaking to my consultants about gestational diabetes, I was able to ask the right questions to get the best possible birth on the day.
I have never felt as strong as the day I gave birth and I want all mothers to feel that. I've always mentored people to help them feel more confident and I now work with mothers throughout all stages of their pregnancy and beyond to help them always feel as empowered as they do on the day they give birth.
I am finding ways to help parents in this critical stage to help them manage the emotional impact of things like post-natal depression as they step forward into their new role with their new family.
I love seeing how expectant parents can bond, how dads can feel useful in the delivery process, and how mothers can tap into that inner instinct that's just there. This technique works.
