Hypnobirthing Surrey - Teachers' Directory
I am a Registered Nurse trained in Aberdeen in 1979. I have loved my nursing career and all the opportunities it has provided. I have lived all over the world and I have been fortunate enough to use my nursing qualification to work in lots of interesting different areas, for example, setting up a health screening programme for local Indonesian Mothers to promoting women’s health in Dubai.
I have three children. Born in 1988, 1991, and 1994. My first was a long drawn out affair which ended in a c-section. The other two were completely different. I even enjoyed them, I was calmer and better prepared, I believed in my ability to birth.
I became a Doula in Dubai with Nurturing Birth in 2009. It was wonderful and fascinating to be part of the birth process and to give support to couples entering parenthood.
I came across hypnobirthing as a doula. I was lucky enough to support a Mum throughout her birth while she used hypnobirthing. It was such a calm, orgasmic and empowering experience for her and her partner and her baby, that I decided to become a hypnobirthing teacher. I have since seen many babies born this way and feel so passionately about spreading the word.
I looked into doing my hypnobirth training with various schools, ie Natal or Marie Mongan but decided Katharine Graves was so much more relevant and would be better based here in the UK. I have loved the course, the support and have met so many really inspirational people through doing the training.
I'm Katie, mum of 2, Midwife, Hypnobirthing practioner, feminist and level 10 tea maker! Having used hypnobirthing as antenatal education with my 2nd child and having seen women gently and calmly birthing their babies I decided I should train as a KGH teacher as I believe all women should have access to hypnobirthing as part of their antenatal education!
I’m Megan Rossiter, a student midwife, mother and hypnobirthing practitionerI'm based in Surrey, covering areas including Thames Diton, Cobham, Esher, Surbiton, Molesey, Teddington, Kingston, Hampton and beyond.
My love for all things birthing came long before I discovered hypnobirthing, and I began my midwifery training in 2015. On this journey, I’ve been lucky enough to support many women through labour and birthing their babies, so when it came to giving birth myself I felt pretty prepared, right? Wrong!
I had an in depth understanding of the mechanisms of birth, hospital protocols and medical procedures, but I needed a way of understanding me. This body, this baby! WE had never done this before. That’s when a friend introduced us to hypnobirthing! And it changed me! As a mother, as a student midwife, as a person!
The course was amazing. Within just a few sessions, and some practice at home, I was able to relax, more deeply than I ever had before (which was welcomed during a very difficult pregnancy). My partner felt involved and the three of us felt connected (Me, Hubby and the Baby that is!). We were thrown one complexity after the other, and the prospect of ‘induction’ loomed over us. Hypnobirthing gave us the power to make informed, thought through decisions, to get the most out of our care providers and access safe, but personalised care. The glorious home birth plans we had made went out of the window, but thanks to hypnobirthing, we took everything thrown at us in our stride, and went on to have a calm, connected, beautiful birth! I would do it again tomorrow.
(Now, please excuse the preaching, but I hope you will feel the same after your birth too). WHY, I thought to myself, aren’t all women doing this?! Why isn’t this the FIRST thing they mention to you at your midwife appointments? Why is it still presented as some sort of hippy fad? Since then, it has been my mission to make birth positive, powerful and (dare I say it) enjoyable for new mums and families everywhere!
So, if you're ready to make your dream birth a reality, please get in touch!
Hi, I’m Rachel, founder of Barefoot Birthing. I hope you're feeling well during your pregancy.
I first discovered hypnobirthing whilst pregnant with my daughter. After her fantastic birth I had a light bulb moment - hypnobirthing and proper birth preparation is a BIG deal. After my son's homebirth, I was hooked on all things birthing, and there was no question that I wanted to share this incredibly logical, profound, and life-changing concept with other mums-to-be.
The impact of a positive birth experience for mum and baby should never be underestimated. A healthy baby is not all that matters, mothers matter too.

I understand that being pregnant is a very special time of our lives, and I am so happy to be able to help families to feel confident and supported throughout their journey.
Hypnobirthing is really a fantastic way to prepare with, and my experience so far is that it has a positive effect on labour and birth every time. I read more and more positive birth stories from my lovely couples who did Hypnobirthing with me, and I hope to receive loads more in the future.
I also work as a fitness professional, so I am familiar with motivating people, and help them to achieve their goals.
I hope I will see you in my class one day, and we can work together to achieve that beautiful birth you have dreamt of.
Hello, my name is Dariya and apart from hypnobirthing, I teach Dreambirth Imagery techniques for conception, labour, birth and parenting. I have a background in teaching dance, yoga and meditation. I still teach the last too. I have always been passionate about everything related with the power of the mind&body. I found about hypnobirthing when I got pregnant with my first baby and just thought It would be too selfish not to share it with other women. It did make a profound difference in my nearly 48 hour long labor and thanks to the hypnobirthing techniques and knowledge I managed to have a natural and pleasant birth. My second birth though was an incredible water homebirth which changed completely the way I teach and help women. I am absolutely in love with this method as it provides a complete antenatal education and gives you the tools to have the best possible natural birth. After the course, you will be full of confidence and trust in the power of your own body to birth your baby beautifully and joyfully. An experience that will empower you for the rest of your life.

Hypnobirthing is a form of natural childbirth which involves training expectant mothers how to use effective hypnosis techniques as part of a more calm and relaxed birth for them and their child. We believe that this gives you, as a mother, more peace of mind over your birthing, and also gives your birthing partner much more involvement in the birth in a very positive way.
KG Hypnobiring is growing, so wherever you are, we hope that you will be able to find one of our practitioners near you. Here in Surrey, we have members in Farnham, Godalming, Guildford, New Malden and Reigate, so wherever you live in the county, someone local should be able to give you support and training in hypnobirthing techniques for the birth of your baby.
Every one of our registered practitioners has been carefully assessed to ensure they fulfil our entry requirements, with extensive experience of teaching at least one of the recognised hypnobirthing methods.
Our Core Principles
Our members have signed up to our code of conduct, which ensures they are committed to enhancing birthing for mothers through natural childbirth, by teaching good quality practices. In addition, they work with us to promote hypnobirthing techniques in order to raise awareness of their effectiveness in achieving a relaxed birth for both mother and child.
