Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy! I am an experienced midwife, mother to three and co-founder of Surrey and Sussex Midwives who specialises in birth education and KG Hypnobirthing. If you are looking for antenatal classes and support with a local midwife and an opportunity to meet other parents to be in your area, then I would love to hear from you.

After qualifying with a first class honours degree from the University of Bedfordshire in 2010 I spent my first year working in a small district hospital before venturing out to a busier maternity unit. Here, I worked for a period of time on the maternity unit before becoming a community midwife in 2012. During my time at that hospital, I chose to set up my own birth and parenthood course. I provided this to the women in my care and case loaded the families that were choosing to have their babies at home.

I qualified as a Katharine Graves Hypnobirthing Teacher in 2013. I admit I was a bit of a sceptic (along with most people who hear the term hypnobirth) but was astounded at how much sense it made, and how simple the techniques were.

In 2014, I moved to another NHS trust in Surrey where I worked as a community midwife before becoming a member of a fantastic case loading home birth team.

I have experience in all aspects of midwifery, from supporting women with complex pregnancies and births in the community and hospital setting, to providing continuity of care to women and their families choosing to have their babies at home. I also have a lot of local knowledge of additional support available during pregnancy and postnatally with your baby, gained through being a local midwife, but also a mum too!

Moving to the countryside was the best thing we did! Shortly after joining the home birth team my husband and I were blessed with the arrival of our daughter Ada, and then eleven months later (believe those midwives when they say you can fall pregnant when you are exclusively breast feeding), Eleanor came into the world. If we weren't busy enough, we decided to have another baby, and this year and our beautiful baby boy, Rupert arrived at the beginning of 2019.  Hypnobirthing was an invaluable technique for my pregnancies and births. I felt calm and in control, and confident that my body and baby knew what they were doing. My partner found the course incredibly useful, and felt prepared and at ease during the whole pregnancy and birth.

It's been a whirlwind couple of years, but I wouldn't change a second. I feel privileged to be a midwife and now a mother and am looking forward to supporting you and your family through your pregnancy and birth.

I'm Elena and a mum to my two happy tots. I came to the world of hypnobirthing when I was pregnant with my second one and was looking for a better, more comfortable birth experience. We had taken a hypnobirthing course and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I was struck by how these simple techniques taught in the course could help me to slow down and make my hectic life calmer and easier. Ever since these tools have been my everyday practise.

Pregnant women always caught my attention, especially when I was a little girl. There was something magical and charming in them. And this is so true because if you look at a childbearing and childbirth - it is wonderful. A little cell can develop into a beautiful baby that is a small copy of yourself. How amazing it is!? Every childbirth is truly a miracle!

I strongly believe that pregnancy along with the arrival of a new baby is the most exciting time of our lives (caused by the hormones dancing within the pregnant body) and, of course, the most intense and memorable experiences.

My desire is for everyone to have a positive, calm, enjoyable pregnancy and birth as well as a new life with a new.

So please feel free to contact me

Hi, my name is Gabriella, I’m a mum of two, a fully qualified KGH Hypnobirthing teacher, and founder of Mamanest Hypnobirthing.

I have a diploma in Hypnobirthing with the KG method which is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives.

When I was pregnant with my first child, me and my husband decided to do a private course that could prepare us in full for the birth.

That was the best decision we could have ever made. Hypnobirthing gave us all the information we needed to be fully prepared and more than anything it had the power to make me feel strong and calm; it gave me knowledge and confidence; my mindset shifted completely from being stressed and scared to being relaxed and positive; my husband was also empowered and felt he had an important role to play.

The course gave us information about the physiology of birth, made us understand how much the mind and body are connected, how important it is to know that you have a voice when it comes to making decisions and that you can make decisions that are best for you and your baby based on the knowledge that you then have, and the facts that you have learned, and not based on assumptions.

I realised that Hypnobirthing made a great difference for us and our baby; our experience was so positive compared to one of the other couples we knew.

Giving birth doesn’t have to be scary, the worst experience of your life, the most painful thing you’ll ever do, and so on, unfortunately, our society doesn’t help women to feel less anxious about birth, we are surrounded by lots of negativity and disinformation.

This is why I decided to be a Hypnobirthing teacher, I love to help and support women to have a calm and positive mindset, to have confidence in their bodies, to have the knowledge to make the right decisions, and ultimately to achieve a positive birth experience.

I offer a completely free consultation to all couples.

Hello, my name is Dariya and apart from hypnobirthing, I teach Dreambirth Imagery techniques for conception, labour, birth and parenting. I have a background in teaching dance, yoga and meditation. I still teach the last too. I have always been passionate about everything related with the power of the mind&body. I found about hypnobirthing when I got pregnant with my first baby and just thought It would be too selfish not to share it with other women. It did make a profound difference in my nearly 48 hour long labor and thanks to the hypnobirthing techniques and knowledge I managed to have a natural and pleasant birth. My second birth though was an incredible water homebirth which changed completely the way I teach and help women. I am absolutely in love with this method as it provides a complete antenatal education and gives you the tools to have the best possible natural birth. After the course, you will be full of confidence and trust in the power of your own body to birth your baby beautifully and joyfully. An experience that will empower you for the rest of your life.

I help women have truly transformative birth experiences by feeling calm, confident and in control as they prepare for their birth.

What you may not know about me is that when I was pregnant with my first child five years ago, I initially took the ‘ignorance is bliss’ approach when preparing for my first baby’s birth. I hoped that, on the day, luck would be on my side to give me a tolerable birth. I deliberately resisted doing any reading or preparation about childbirth. I went into avoidance mode and I instead busied myself looking at beautiful baby clothes and planning the décor for my baby’s nursery. It seemed that childbirth was just a rite of passage to be endured to get the gorgeous squishy baby at the end of it. I listened to friends’ endless tales of horror about their painful births and how they hated their arduous labours.

However, deep down, my instinct and curiosity to understand more about birth was building.

Surely ALL births didn’t have to be shrouded in so much drama and suffering? At that point, I made the decision to learn as much as I could about all things positive birth.

This turned out to be a pivotal decision.

My mind was blown by a whole new world where so many women were in fact having quite the opposite experience and relishing ecstatic joy-filled births!

Rather than the common tales of agony, bleeping machines, doctors rushing in and an atmosphere of panic in the birthing room; the women in the positive birth videos were calm, in control and made giving birth look effortless. Having devoured endless videos of such births – I became intrigued with how these women had approached their birth preparation and I learned that hypnobirthing was at the absolute heart of how they had been able to achieve a birth that to many women didn't seem possible. At 20 weeks pregnant with my first child, my husband and I invested in working 1:1 with a hypnobirthing practitioner.

Little did I know then that such an experience would have such a profound impact in our lives.

Hypnobirthing enabled me to have two incredibly empowering birth experiences that left me feeling like a rock star.

I was on cloud nine and I will never forget the high of birthing my babies naturally, in water and cradling them in my arms, knowing that I had achieved what women are all too often told is impossible.

Not only was hypnobirthing absolutely key in enabling me to have the birth experiences of my dreams, but it also motivated me to set out on a mission to inspire other women to know that a positive, empowering birth is within the reach of every woman.

We have all heard the false narrative that childbirth is inherently dangerous, creating the warped view that it is an event that needs to be controlled or managed with drugs, machines and even surgery.  This overly medicalised approach can cause more harm than good, seeing women as passive vessels on a production line of ‘getting babies out’ at untold cost to a woman’s mental and long-term physical health.

The result of this entrenched culture of fear and trauma is that women are understandably fearful. They can lack confidence in their own ability to birth their baby without medical intervention. This then becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy as being fearful and panicky in labour actually supresses the hormones that allow labour to progress easily.  Labour then stalls, which in turn is why so many women require medical intervention, all too often resulting in a negative or even traumatic birth experience.

It is time to break free from this counter-intuitive idea that birth is going to be painful and traumatic. Mother Nature designed women better than this!

I have learnt that most women have no idea how powerful their bodies truly are when it comes to childbirth and that we often allow fear rather than fact to drive our emotions when it comes to making decisions around how we want to birth our babies. There is now a powerful uprising of women who know the truth – that your body is perfectly designed to birth your baby easily and calmly. The deeper that belief goes, the more likely you will have a birth experience to cherish for the rest of your life.

THIS is why I do what I do.

I know that a positive birth experience really matters – your childbirth experience will change you in unimagined ways. Birth preparation is worthy of serious time and investment. I also know that you have the power within you to achieve the birth you want. You deserve to have the best possible birth experience for both you and your baby.

Through working with me, you will learn exactly how perfectly the body is designed to birth your baby with minimal intervention and how powerful the mind is in controlling your body. Through learning to deeply relax the mind, we teach the brain to ‘let go’ of unfounded fears surrounding birth whilst also replacing these fears with new, positive ideas about birth so these thoughts become ingrained and automatic (major spoiler – 99% of the fear-mongering’s you may have heard about birth are total myths!)

So when labour begins, you go into the auto-pilot of deep relaxation and let your body do what it is designed to do!

Our Birth Reborn Hypnobirthing course allows you to shift your whole mindset around all things birth so you can relax and enjoy your pregnancy, feel more connected with your baby and be so excited for when labour begins and for that life changing moment when you get to hold your new born in your arms and feel like the Rockstar birther you worked so hard to be.

Trust me; it is a high like no other.

Through working with me you will learn that positive birth is a truly transformative experience; you will feel reborn. A birth experience where you have felt in control and powerful is the best way to start to new motherhood.

My name is Lesley and I live in Haslemere, Surrey .

Before I had children I wanted to work in the neonatal world and in 2008, when my children were old enough,  I enrolled onto an Access to Nursing & Health Professions course at Guildford College, my aim was to become a midwife but my circumstances changed and that was no longer an option for me.

When I heard about Doulas for the first time (after I finished my Access course in 2010) I did some research into the role  of a Birth Doula and  felt the ethos sat very comfortably with my own belief that childbirth is a natural process which, given the right  tools and emotional suport, means it is possible for women to come through their own birth experience with precious memories of a primitive and wonderful experience to treasure all their lives.

As a qualified KG Hypnobirthing teacher I teach pregnant couples how to give themselves the best chance of the birth experience they are hoping for .  The sense of empowerment for a woman who understands what is happening  and why to her body in pregnancy, labour and birth, can be amazing and should be available to all women.

Being invited onto a couple's journey into parenthood is an amazing privilege and  I can offer you support in the form of  practical help, emotional support (you may need both in varying amounts) and hypnobirthing techniques that can be used as coping skills in other potentially stressful life situations throughout  your life.  I offer non-judgemental up to date signposting during the antental, birth and immediate post-natal period, as you adjust to your beautiful new addition.

I can support parents and families with a range of theraputic models. I make time with my clients to empathetically explore any concerns and issues fully without judgment either from my garden practice or virtually. I use hypnobirthing to empower parents and cover the materials and tools comprehensively, encouraging questions and discussion to further develop your own ideas.

I am a mother of two young boys where I used the techniques I teach on the course. Where relevant I add to topics my own expereinces and my own self development as a parent. I also complete regular CPD and supervision to better support my clients and their needs so I can devote my time to you wholly in sessions and signpost you should you need further support.

Some of the areas I'm qualified in are: 3 step rewind, NLP, EMDR, EFT, solution focused therapy and positive psychology as well as being a breastfeeding counsellor trained with the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers. I have supported many famailies as a recognised post natal doula and bring this experience into my sessions.

I am a Registered Nurse trained in Aberdeen in 1979.  I have loved my nursing career and all the opportunities it has provided.  I have lived all over the world and I have been fortunate enough to use my nursing qualification to work in lots of interesting different areas, for example, setting up a health screening programme for local Indonesian Mothers to promoting women’s health in Dubai.

I have three children. Born in 1988, 1991, and 1994.  My first was a long drawn out affair which ended in a c-section.  The other two were completely different.  I even enjoyed them, I was calmer and better prepared, I believed in my ability to birth.

I became a Doula in Dubai with Nurturing Birth in 2009.  It was wonderful and fascinating to be part of the birth process and to give support to couples entering parenthood.

I came across hypnobirthing as a doula.  I was lucky enough to support a Mum throughout her birth while she used hypnobirthing.  It was such a calm, orgasmic and empowering experience for her and her partner and her baby, that I decided to become a hypnobirthing teacher.  I have since seen many babies born this way and feel so passionately about spreading the word.

I looked into doing my hypnobirth training with various schools, ie Natal or Marie Mongan but decided Katharine Graves was so much more relevant and would be better based here in the UK.  I have loved the course, the support and have met so many really inspirational people through doing the training.

I understand that being pregnant is a very special time of our lives, and I am so happy to be able to help families to feel confident and supported throughout their journey.

Hypnobirthing is really a fantastic way to prepare with, and my experience so far is that it has a positive effect on labour and birth every time. I read more and more positive birth stories from my lovely couples who did Hypnobirthing with me, and I hope to receive loads more in the future.

I also work as a fitness professional, so I am familiar with motivating people, and help them to achieve their goals.

I hope I will see you in my class one day, and we can work together to achieve that beautiful birth you have dreamt of.

Warm wishes,

  • I am a hypnobirthing mum on a mission to help parents achieve the most positive, calm and empowering birth for their baby.

I first learnt about KGHypnobirthing when I was pregnant with my first baby and subsequently went on to have a wonderfully calm, quick and empowering birth.

I was amazed at how powerful and effective hypnobirthing had been for me and went on to tell as many people as possible about it. It was then I realised how passionately I felt about helping others have positive birth experience too and just 12 weeks after my daughter was born I decided to become a fully qualified KGHypnobirthing teacher.

Hypnobirthing Surrey

Hypnobirthing is a form of natural childbirth which involves training expectant mothers how to use effective hypnosis techniques as part of a more calm and relaxed birth for them and their child.  We believe that this gives you, as a mother, more peace of mind over your birthing, and also gives your birthing partner much more involvement in the birth in a very positive way.

KG Hypobirthing

KG Hypnobiring is growing, so wherever you are, we hope that you will be able to find one of our practitioners near you.  Here in Surrey, we have members in Farnham, Godalming, Guildford, New Malden and Reigate, so wherever you live in the county, someone local should be able to give you support and training in hypnobirthing techniques for the birth of your baby.

Accredited Teachers

Every one of our registered practitioners has been carefully assessed to ensure they fulfil our entry requirements, with extensive experience of teaching at least one of the recognised hypnobirthing methods.

Our Core Principles

Our members have signed up to our code of conduct, which ensures they are committed to enhancing birthing for mothers through natural childbirth, by teaching good quality practices. In addition, they work with us to promote hypnobirthing techniques in order to raise awareness of their effectiveness in achieving a relaxed birth for both mother and child.
