Hypnobirthing Wales - Teachers' Directory
I am an ex midwife/nurse, trained therapist and Hypnotherapist who is passionate about Hypnobirthing. I am a mum with 3 grown up children and have a granddaughter and grandson. Both my daughters used Hypnobirthing and found it extremely beneficial. I am currently working as a Senior Therapist and a Hypnotherapist in a local University and run a private practise. I can also be found as a practitioner on the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy website Registration number 045310. However, I have always missed being a midwife so feel this opportunity to teach Hypnobirthing gives me the best of both worlds that I would love to share with prospective parents!. I would be happy to meet to discuss your requirements either in person or over the telephone or skype.
Originally trained as a counsellor, I worked with young people with addiction and later qualified as a secondary school teacher. During this time I also learned to meditate and soon began to pass on this skill to others; I have now been teaching meditation for almost thirty years. Having used a form of hypnobirthing for my second and third births, and to support my own daughter in the birth of her baby, I wanted to combine this knowledge with my knowledge of relaxation and mindfulness techniques to support pregnant women further. I completed the KGHypnobirthing course to enable me to offer this specialist technique with the antenatal element which I believe so strongly is crucial to empowering women in taking control of their births.
I started Hypnobirth Mamas to offer support, community and positivity to pregnant women and their partners, all things I feel very passionately about.
I am mother to Ella, Indigo and Freya and have used Hypnobirthing with all my pregnancies and births. I was blown away when I attended a Hypnobirthing course during my pregnancy with Ella - I felt permission, for the first time in my life, to have a calm, quiet and natural birth. I still use the breathing techniques and meditations to help me parent calmly when things are not calm.
I have always worked in health services; from a women’s sexual health charity in Guatemala to the Department of Health in London. What I love about teaching Hypnobirthing is that one course changes the story of a birth; whether it’s a couple who feel clearer about where they want to give birth or a mother feeling calm for the first time during her second pregnancy, being part of that change is a real privilege.
My name is Grace, and I have worked with children and babies for many years. I am a huge advocate for mindfulness and after having my own Hypno Baby I trained as a Hypnobirthing teacher.
It saddens me greatly that mums go in to Birth fearful and that it seems to be a culture that mums just resign herself to the ‘fact’ that she has to go thought this awful experience.
How can this be? Birth is for many women a wonderful, empowering and positive experience. The difference often is Birth education and preparation.
In my courses I aim for women to leave calm and confident going in to birth. We educate all our women and their birth partners to understand their choices in their care, and how this can effect their birth.
Go in to Birth excited and come away with a huge sense of achievement and a positive experience that will stay with you forever.
We cover areas around South Wales and the West Country.
Newport, Chepstow, Cwmbran, Monmouthshire, Gwent, Bristol.
Despite its slightly odd name Hypnobirthing is simply all round really good birth education for body and mind. Hypnobirthing is effective and evidence based.
We teach skills for pregnancy and birth but, these skills are transferrable to everyday life once you realise how powerful your mind is that is something you can use across your whole life.
Think of it like an antenatal class plus. We talk your through the physiology of birth, each stage of labour and birth, giving you practical tips such as positions for labour. Move though to deep relaxation to support your control of your mind over the body, deal with fears that you many have around birth and look in to how these fears can effect your birth. A effective and holistic approach to birth.
Small group sessions and one to ones are lead by your needs and that of your birth partners, which makes for a personalised experience.
A confident and calm birth is entirely possible.
If going in to birth excited sounds like it’s for you or you have any questions feel free to get in touch.
My love for Hypnobirthing started almost six years ago when I was pregnant with my first daughter; as there were no classes in my area I bought ‘The Hypnobirthing Book’ and taught myself. Now, having experienced two beautiful natural births I am passionate about helping other women achieve the best possible birthing experience. My drive to help other women is deeply rooted and I feel a responsibility to pass on the knowledge I have gained through KGHypnobirthing to others. I have been told that my enthusiasm for Hypnobirthing is infectious and I love helping future mothers and fathers at such an important and wonderful time for them.
I’m Lisa .. Mother of four, Doula, KGHypnobirthing practitionerband founder of birth roots. I offer individualised, nurturing care as one journeys towards and through birth into their post-partum. It’s a joy and honour to walk with and bear witness to women’s power and to support their choices, whatever they may be. . I have no particular focus on one type or place of birth, simply the birth that is right for you, one that aligns with your presenting and evolving needs and desires. My care for women over the maternal year begins by providing support antenatally through to birth and into the postnatal period. This phase, termed the fourth trimester, can often be overlooked, but time taken here always benefits the new Mother, and in turn the whole family. By Mothering the Mother, through nurturing and nourishing care, it allows her to rest and recover, while gently transitioning into her new role, while the whole family adjust to their new rhythm of life. Complementing this I am a Holisitc Therapist, offering Reflexology, Massage and Aromatherapy; for those choosing to enhance their holistic wellbeing. I am also a Placenta Remedies Specialist, working for women who choose to include their placenta as part of their post partum healing, in the form of encapsulation, tincture, essence and homeopathic remedies. Additionally I hold skills in Rebozo, Homeopathy and Acupressure for childbirth, while crafting bespoke Mother Blessing ceremonies and Closing the Bones ceremony, which takes place post partum. My experience personally, and with the clients I support, is that when a woman understands the processes of birth and all the choices available to her within this, receives respectful and compassionate care, she is then better able to emerge powerful, joyful and intact because birth has been positively transformational. This matters to me because women are important, our needs are important, birth is important, Motherhood is important. I admin our local positive birth group, holding monthly birth circles too, nestled here in the Vale of Glamorgan.
