Hypnobirthing Yorkshire W - Teachers' Directory
I am a secondary school teacher living in Wakefield (from Liverpool originally) with two boys of my own.
My own two birth experiences are as different as day and night and I know first-hand the difference that hypnobirthing can make. My first (traumatic) birth has changed me in many ways, and I understand the emotional pain and grief that lingers like a shadow.
Like me, you might have come to hypnobirthing with little knowledge of it but with the desire for a different experience. I know that this is possible and I am confident that I can help you achieve a better birth using this method.
Knowledge is power. Be empowered.
I have studied hypnobirthing with KGHypnobirthing which is one of the world leaders in hypnobirthing and I can’t wait to be able to share it with you. I’m passionate about helping others to have an empowering experience, its about you making the decisions about your birth. I have an excellent understanding about different birth scenarios after speaking with a variety of different mum’s about their birth experiences and I also have first-hand experience on how hypnobirthing works as I used it throughout my pregnancy and the birth of my daughter. Prior to using hypobirthing I was extremely nervous about any type of ‘medical’ environment and the idea of having a baby terrified me beyond belief. After listening to other peoples stories for years and watching unrealistic births on TV I was petrified at the thought of having a baby. My anxiety prior to becoming pregnant with regards to healthcare became so severe that I suffered from panic attacks and sleepless nights if I had an upcoming medical appointment. When I became pregnant I knew that I needed to do something to help me overcome my anxiety in order to ensure that me, my husband and mainly my baby had a positive birth experience. The fear of causing my unborn baby harm due to my anxiety gave me the determination to find a method to remain calm during my pregnancy. I was keen to curb my fears in order to give my child the best possible start in life and that’s when I discovered hypnobirthing. Despite a hospital transfer via ambulance and a baby born prematurely at 36 weeks I was able to use hypnobirthing effectively, birthing my baby after 26 hours of active labour without any intervention and just the use of just gas and air during the 2nd stage of labour. Through having this positive experience, not only was giving birth and meeting daughter the proudest moment of my life. I was proud of me in a way that I cannot describe, I had changed from a woman who lived in fear to a mother who felt like she could do anything.
I am a local labour ward midwife and part time business owner! I have recently established wellness rooms and I am so excited to start offering hypnobirthing from here. I have two beautiful children and enjoy spending my time off with them, so when teaching families or busy couples I’m extremely happy to be flexible with days and times! I offer a relaxed teaching approach and look forward to meeting lots of new parents to be!

Hi, I’m Lauren, mum of two boys and a lover of tea! I live in Kirklees, West Yorkshire, with my husband and two sons.
My hypnobirthing journey began when I became pregnant with my second son. My first birth experience had been less than positive and had left me with a lot of anxiety about going through it again the second time round. I had heard lots of positive stories about hypnobirthing, so I decided to give it a try. The information I learned on the hypnobirthing course about the science of birth just made so much sense to me, and gave me a greater understanding of my first birth experience. And the breathing and relaxation techniques were so simple and easy to do, that I thought ‘this is great! I can’t believe more women don’t know about this– it makes so much sense once you know it’.
My second birth was such a positive experience – a world of difference from my first one. Because of the hypnobirthing techniques I had learned, I was able to remain so calm and stay present in the moment without panic or fear.
I couldn’t believe the difference between the two birth experiences, and decided that I was going to train to teach hypnobirthing as I feel so passionately about its benefits.
I think no woman should begin her birthing journey in fear, and want to help as many women as possible to create the calm, positive and empowering birth experience that I now know is possible.
Outside of hypnobirthing I have spent the majority of my career working for a charity supporting people that have experienced crime, and I am a qualified Person Centred Therapeutic Counsellor.
I offer group and private hypnobirthing classes in West Yorkshire.
I look forward to hearing from you, Lauren x
I’m Katie, I’m a nurse of 9 years and mum of 2 living in Leeds. Hypnobirthing is a real passion for me - I love helping women feel confident about birth.
As a health care professional I believe in evidence-based care. Once I started to research aspects of birth, I couldn’t believe how confident it made me feel in my decisions and in my body. I want to help others achieve the same feeling.
