Hypnobirthing Kent - Teachers' Directory
I bring a unique set of skills to being a hypnobirthing teacher. I have been a Psychology teacher for 14 years. I am used to explaining complex information in a way that makes it clear and easy to understand, whether we are working individually or in groups. Many people have not been in a ‘classroom’ for many years and you may have apprehension about this which can get in the way of your learning. I am highly skilled at making you feel comfortable in learning situations, so that quickly you are able to take on board the information and skills you are looking for.
Added to this I am a qualified Hypnotherapist. I have a good appreciation and understanding of the relationship between the mind and body. I use a wide range of therapeutic skills including the power of language to help you bring about the change you are looking for. As a hypnobirthing teacher I can also help you overcome related fears and worries that may arise when we start talking about giving birth.
My name is Kelly and I offer KGH birth preparation classes in Folkestone and the surrounding areas. Having experienced two hypnobirths myself, I am truely passionate about hypnobirthing and the positive impact it has on the mother, birth partner and baby.
I am also a qualified Primary school teacher and have been teaching for the past 13 years.
I live in Folkestone with my huband and two daughters.
my name is Rina and I am a Registered Midwife working for The Tunbridge Wells Hospital. I am also a trained Staff Nurse and most importantly, a mother to three young girls. I enjoy practicing yoga and travelling.
I am a mother of one little baby girl who was born at home using KG Hypnobirthing techniques. I do not expect all Mums to have homebirths and in fact, birth can be empowering and magical just about anywhere it happens. I was an initial sceptic to Hypnobirthing but having used it and seen so many other women use it in many different birth scenarios (induction, c-sections), I believe that it is the one way that a woman and her birth partner can not only feel completely confident but also be fully informed, ready for the forthcoming life event.
The one thing that I would ask from you, however, is commitment to practice the techniques that you will learn. Practice makes perfect and I have seen the difference first-hand in mums that did practice and mums that didn't. It becomes second nature to you and you will find yourself using the relaxation techniques even in situations where you normally wouldn't have! (i.e. me the other day when I spent an hour in the supermarket and got to the till, realised I didn't have any form of payment on me...and breathe!)

I’m Sarita and a proud mum of 3 beautiful children, living just outside Ashford, Kent. I am a qualified Doula, KG Hypnobirthing teacher and a Montessori educator of over 13 years.
I believe passionately in our innate ability to give birth free from fear, in calm, in comfort and with confidence. I completely trust in this marvellous, natural process that, when left undisturbed, can have an incredible impact on the outcome of pregnancy and childbirth.
Having experienced a beautiful home-birth and also both simple and difficult hospital births, I understand that sometimes things don't always go as planned, but you can always have a calm birth that suits your unique situation and circumstance.
I consider it a privilege to partner and journey with you in becoming more empowered and encouraged, to feel anticipation, excitement, joy and love in preparation and during the birth of your precious baby.
When I gave birth to my little boy Sydney in 2015 it was one of the most empowering moments of my life. I had a short, calm and comfortable birth - all thanks to the KG Hypnobirthing method. I am passionate that all women should be able to achieve a great birth that they can look back on with fondness, which is why I became a teacher myself.
I live in Dartford with my baby and husband, Matt.
My name is Lindsay, I am a qualified Hypnobirthing teacher and a licensed NCT Antenatal practitioner, I live in Ashford with my husband, two young children and our dog. My own experiences have inspired and driven me to want to support other parents to become calm and confident as they approach birth or parenthood.
It is a great privilege to be a part of such a special time in people’s lives and knowing that I am helping parents to be to have a positive birth experience, has only fuelled my passion.
My name is Edwina and as well as being mum to two gorgeous girls, I’m a KG Hypnobirthing Practitioner; ‘Birthing from Within’ Birth Preparation Mentor; Life Coach and experienced Registered Shiatsu Practitioner, specialising in pregnancy. In a previous life, many moons ago, I was a Chartered Accountant!
As the founder of ‘Birthways’, I’m passionate about helping couples have a positive, empowering birth experience however events may unfold.
My range of qualifications and professional experience allow me to offer you support on many levels (emotionally, mentally and physically) throughout your pregnancy. I will give you the tools to achieve the best birth for you and increase your potential of a calmer, gentler birth.
You’ll learn ways to relax; release any fears and anxieties; build trust and confidence in your body’s ability to birth and feel fully prepared and aware of all your options.
My passion for birth started during a postgraduate course in ‘Shiatsu for Maternity and the Postnatal Period’. This simmering passion ignited after my two amazing home births. Despite some unexpected events along the way, including a hospital visit, throughout my labour I truly felt a deep level of calm and at one with the powerful flow of nature and birth. There’s nothing quite like that magic moment when you realise ‘I did it…We did it!!!’ The recognition that you stepped into the unknown; laboured; did what you instinctively needed to do to get through each moment and were now on the other side with your baby! I strongly feel that my birth preparation significantly contributed to what I can only describe as a life-affirming event.
When I’m not supporting pregnant couples, you may find me at yoga, cycling, playing tennis and being a ‘mummy taxi’ to my 13 and 10 year old daughters... amongst other things!
It’s such a privilege and joy to mentor mothers and their birth partners as they journey towards the birth of their baby and themselves as parents. I love my role as a KG Hypnobirthing Practitioner and Birth Preparation Mentor and look forward to meeting and working with many more families for years to come.
As a clinical hypnotherapist and having previously practiced as a midwife, I wanted to continue to support women through their child birthing experience. With my calm, nurturing approach to child birth, I can give you tools to enable you to have a calm, comfortable and confident birth experience.
After the birth of my first baby didn't go the way I had wanted I became increasingly interested in supporting parents both antenatally and postnatally in a way that respects their desires, instincts and goals. I have since become an accredited Breastfeeding Counsellor and now a Hypnobirthing Teacher. Through both of these I hope to give parents evidence based information that helps them to trust themselves, their bodies and their babies. My second birth, a hypnobirth was exactly as I had hoped my first would be. I felt calm and in control - a feeling I aim to pass on to all of the Mums and Dads I work with.
Our qualified and accredited hypnobirthing teachers in Kent are in our local directory. Their details include email and website addresses so you can contact them directly, as well as information on any upcoming courses and a short biography. We hope this gives you the peace of mind you are looking for in your chosen teacher.
Why Choose a Hypnobirth?
Hypnobirthing and the use of hypnosis is becoming increasingly recognised as an effective method for giving birth as it helps the mother have a far more rewarding, relaxed and natural birthing experience than she may ever have thought possible. Not only that, but the baby is far more relaxed too as she has not felt any of her mother's stress or anxiety through the birthing.
We have members across the United Kingdom and beyond, with a number based throughout Kent, including practitioners in Ashford, Canterbury, Chatham, Cranbrook, Herne bay, Kings Hill, Medway, Maidstone, Rochester, Sevenoaks, Sittingbourne, Tenterden and Tunbridge Wells. So we hope you will be to find a course reasonably local to where you live. Alternatively, many members can also provide individual classes, if that is your preference.
Our teachers are trained in KG Hypnobirthing and are experienced in teaching expectant mothers how to use these methods as they progress through childbirth. Each has been individually assessed to ensure they meet our high standards of practice, before they receive their accreditation from us.
Our Core Principles
All our teachers espouse our ethics and principles which include promoting good practice in the teaching hypnobirthing. They are also committed to improving awareness of the beneficial effects of natural birthing techniques in order to increase their popularity.
