I teach group and private hypnobirthing courses to women and their birth partners in Maidenhead, Windsor, Marlow and surrounding areas. As a midwife I often wonder why more couples do not opt for hypnobirthing. Looking after women in labour, I have seen the difference it makes to women’s birth experiences. Couples appear more relaxed, in control and confident in their bodies’ ability to give birth. They also tend to be very informed, know what they want and understand the medical system. I would recommend hypnobirthing to all women, whatever their birth plan.

My name is Joanna Williamson and I am a mother of three, midwife and KG Hypnobirthing teacher. I used KG Hypnobirthing for the birth of my son in 2018 and my incredible birth experience made me keener than ever to share with others what I learnt on the course. I love teaching and supporting women and their partners on their journey to parenthood or indeed to a growing family! I switched 18 months ago from working on labour and postnatal wards to in the community where I now provide antenatal and postnatal care and attend homebirths.

I teach group and private full hypnobirthing courses. Since moving to teaching over Zoom, I normally teach over five evening or weekend sessions. Group courses are a great way to meet other parents-to-be and we organise a meet-up for after the babies have arrived – where possible of course. Alternatively, full or bespoke private courses may be more convenient for some people or preferable if wishing to discuss particular issues or previous birth trauma – I am also trained in the Rewind visualisation technique for PTSD.
