If you are growing a baby, then KGH is right for you, regardless of how or where you give birth. The course is relevant to everyone – irrespective of:

  • maternal age
  • baby’s position (breech, back-to-back)
  • multiple babies (twins or more)
  • mode of conception (IVF, ACT),
  • mode of birth (c-section, VBAC etc)

We cover all places of birth – home, birth centre, or hospital. You will learn about your pain relief options, induction of labour, group B strep, what the guidelines say and be given evidence so you can make truly informed choices.

Location

I am a mother of three children, I came across Hypnobirthing when pregnant with my third child after experiencing a heavily medicalised birth with my second daughter. I knew I wanted something different. I completed Katherine’s course for parents and found it hugely insightful. Like so many parents I felt I wished I’d done it sooner as I know it would have changed my previous pregnancy and birth decisions. However moving forward in my pregnancy with positivity and feeling more fully informed I had a home birth with my son using the hypnobirthing techniques I’d learned. The experience was truly wonderful and I knew it was something I wanted to share with others. I therefore chose to become a Hypnobirthing teacher, so that I could support other pregnant women in having more calm and comfortable births.

I am also a qualified social worker with 17 years experience of working with children and families.

I am also a breast feeding peer supporter at two community groups having completed my training with the Association of breastfeeding mothers.

I provide a full 12 hour KGHypnobirthing course. This can be in person on a 1-1, or virtually and also as part of a larger group on selected dates.

The course will cover detailed information about;

  • The physiology of birth – what your body is actually doing to grow your baby!
  • How the maternity system works and how you can navigate it
  • Questions to ask your caregivers
  • Ways to deal with stress and pressure during pregnancy
  • The importance of the birth partner – giving them specific roles to help you and your baby
  • Pros and cons of different birth places
  • The different stages of labour
  • Methods of induction
  • Types of pain relief
  • Simple but truly effective breathing techniques
  • What happens after the baby arrives
  • How the birth partner is your powerful protector and support
