Megan:
I really enjoyed and learnt so much from the course me and my partner did with Hannah, I can’t recommend it enough. I felt much more confident and prepared as my due date approached because Hannah had talked us through what to expect as labour progressed, and knowing about hypnobirthing techniques I could use to stay relaxed during labour was empowering. She is a lovely teacher, very knowledgeable, approachable and reassuring. I liked being able to ask questions as we went along and how she tailored the content to focus on the parts that were most relevant to us, it really brought it to life and made it sink in much more than just reading a book.
In the end I had a very smooth (and fast!) birth experience, I put this down to what Hannah taught us. After my waters broke late in the evening, my labour progressed quickly and I found the audio tracks, breathing techniques and affirmations we had practised particularly helpful. I managed to get by with just gas and air and no other painkillers, and my baby was born first thing in the morning with no complications, very happy! Definitely a worthwhile investment.
Tom P:
Hannah is an excellent midwife, I’m glad we did hypnobirthing with her. As a father-to-be, I appreciated the chance to get more involved in birth preparation and how I could help. Don’t let the term “hypnobirthing” put you off – you will not be hypnotised! Aspects are similar to mindfulness, and the approach to managing pain made sense to me- as pain is at least partly psychological. It is a really practical course, the resources Hannah provided, and the exercises we did in between the sessions were useful. Listening to the hypnobirthing soundtrack regularly beforehand was probably the most helpful thing we did, we played this on repeat on the day of the birth. My son was born healthy, overall really positive experience for me.
Sarah:
I can’t recommend Hannah enough as a hypnobirthing instructor! Her easy, friendly manner made the sessions really comfortable, so my partner and I both felt able to talk openly and ask questions. Our antenatal course had advertised that it included some hypnobirthing content, but touching on it at an after-work class with a large group makes it very hard to take anything in! The sessions with Hannah were so much more valuable in terms of the knowledge, the practical tips, and the reassurance we gained. My birth experience didn’t go as planned (I had an induction followed by an emergency C-section), and I’m so glad that these were outcomes that we had talked through with Hannah in detail to address all my preconceptions and concerns. In the event, at each step of the birth process I felt fully informed, able to make the next decision, and oddly relaxed, so that what was, on paper, a difficult labour actually felt like a really positive birth experience. I really don’t think this would have been the case without Hannah’s support.

Hannah’s hypnobirthing was extremely helpful and I would recommend her to anyone. She is very approachable and friendly, and she did a great job listening to our questions and tailoring her content accordingly. She has a very friendly and relaxed approach and I really appreciated her way of translating the high-level ideas behind hypnobirthing into small tips and tricks that we could actually use during the birth.
