I'm Alice, a  Doula Canada  certifying Labour and Birth Doula and also a  KG Hypnobirthing Instructor  specializing in supporting women and their partners through their pregnancy, labour and birth in the Petawawa, Ontario area.

I'm an avid baker with a love of gardening, never without a cup of tea in my hand, with a passion and fascination for birth. I am also a mother to three crazy, imaginative, lovable little boys and a military spouse.   Originally from England, I have lived all over the world before finally settling down in Canada. I have always had a love of babies, always wanting to be a mother. When I was 19 I spent time working at a maternity hospital in Ghana and it is there I witnessed up close and personal my first ever birth and it was eye-opening. I don’t know how long the lady laboured at home before coming to the hospital but the birth was quick and she made it look so effortless. She got up on the bed, gave birth and then walked into the maternity ward next door. Her birth had a resounding, lasting and very positive effect on me and my future births. From the age of 19 to when I had my first baby at 26 that is how I believed and pictured myself giving birth (coupled with Brooklyn Decker’s birth by sneezing in ‘What to Expect When You Are Expecting’).  - the power of positive thinking and positive affirmations at its best.
