Hypnobirthing Cornwall - Teachers' Directory
Hello, I am Heidi and I teach KGHypnobirthing, Pregnancy Yoga and Baby Massage in and around the North Cornwall area. I have been teaching hypnobirthing to couples in groups and one to one sessions since 2010.
I am also a hypnobirthing mum myself, with my daughter born in 2011 and my son in 2012. The techniques helped me to release a lot fear around birth that was drip fed to me via recounts of my own birth and those portrayed in the media.
My wish is for you and your baby to have an empowered birth experience and the best start to life together.
Pregnancy is a special time and birth is a life event. I am here to support you.

My name is Jem, I am a working mum to one crazy, wonderful little girl and wife to a surf junky family man. I qualified in KGH in 2017 after having an empowering and profound experience birthing my daughter in 2015 using Hypnobirthing. I am passionate about sharing the knowledge and tools with other mums to be, to offer them the same wonderful experience of birth.
I have been a practicing Social Worker, specialising in fostering and adoption, for 10 years and have worked with children for over 12 years
I offer one to one KGH training in the comfort of your own home, so you and your partner do not have to travel at a time when you are already very tired or take time out of your already busy lives. I offer flexible courses, in the evenings and weekends so neither of you need to take time off work or have to find additional child care for your other children. The course can be completed one evening a week, over 4 weeks or over 2 full days at a weekend. I work with you to find the most convenient and relaxing option for your individual circumstances.
My journey into Hypnobirthing began in 2014 when we found out we were pregnant. My friend was also pregnant but was suffering from a lot of anxiety due to the fear of birthing her child. She asked us to join her on a Hypnobirthing course, and give her moral support as she tried to convince her scientist husband that it was not just some 'mystical mumbo jumbo'. At this point if I am honest I was also highly skeptical about Hypnobirthing too, and thought it all sounded too good to be true.
The course was so much more than we hoped it would be, providing an alternative perspective on birth that differed greatly from the extreme images on TV and in films. After the four week course we continued to listen to our relaxation scripts, and practiced getting into the relaxed 'zone'. This gave us something special and shared to do together as a couple, in preparation for welcoming our child. It gave my husband a really important role and included him more fully in the birthing journey.
Towards the end of our pregnancy we felt confident and relaxed, and so made the decision to have a home birth. We were now excited, not frightened, and felt privileged to have the opportunity to experience birth. Our friends felt the same and they too opted for a home birth. It was quite miraculous to see my friend convert her anxiety into excitement through the process of Hypnobirthing.
Both my friend and I had beautiful, calm home births without any pain relief, and without any fear or anxiety during the on set of labour. Our husbands were both fully present and a vital part of birth.
My friends second labour was a little less straight forward and she was induced two weeks early. Despite this she made use of all her Hypnobirthing tools and had a calm, quiet, drug free birth in hospital. Needless to say her husband is now a believer!
We moved to Cornwall in February 2017, looking to get out of the rat race of London and give our little one a beach filled childhood like we had both enjoyed. I quickly met lots of wonderful women, through toddler groups, many of who were pregnant with their second child. It became apparent that there were very few providers of Hypnobirthing courses in Cornwall so I set about becoming a teacher so I could offer women the same opportunity, knowledge and hopefully the same calm birthing experience as we had.
Congratulations on your pregnancy!! I’m Demelza - a mother of two and a qualified primary school teacher who in 2019 found another passion – hypnobirthing!
I have always been in awe of the power of the mind and this was further strengthened by my own experience using hypnobirthing for the birth of my second child. I am passionate about empowering women and enabling them to understand the importance of preparation when it comes to labour and birth.
My story:
Following an unplanned caesarean birth for my son in 2016, when I fell pregnant in 2018 with my daughter, I knew I wanted a natural birth and wanted to do everything I could to make this possible. I had heard of hypnobirthing and when I began to read more about it, I was sure this could help me achieve the natural birth I longed for.
Hypnobirthing gave me the tools I needed to trust my instincts and remain calm to allow my body to give birth naturally. My husband said the change he saw in me, during my second labour, surprised him immensely - instead of the panic and tension observed during a surge in my first labour, I was calm, and through focusing on my breathing, I was able to go into a relaxed little bubble until it passed. My daughter’s birth was so empowering I can actually say that I enjoyed the whole experience. Immediately after her birth, I started sharing our experience with passion and enthusiasm and soon realised I wanted to help spread the word and facilitate other women in their preparation for labour and birth.
In 2019, while still on maternity leave, I enrolled on the KGHypnobirthing teacher’s course which is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives and I now hold a KGH diploma. I am excited to be able to offer the KGH course to pregnant women and their birth partners to help them achieve their own positive birth experience.
If you are interested in finding out more about hypnobirthing, please get in touch to have a chat. I look forward to hearing from you.
Hi! I’m Caro, I discovered hypnobirthing just before the birth of my second child whilst looking for natural pain relief in labour – I found so much more! Discovering confidence, positivity, knowledge and a wonderful community, I couldn’t wait to share with other couples!
I took the plunge in 2021 and re-qualified as a KGHypnobirthing instructor so I can pass on my enthusiasm and do what I love, talk about babies and hypnobirth! I am passionate about inclusivity in hypnobirthing and believe its practises can be applied to all couples and all births, wherever and however you decide to birth your baby. As a Mum with experience of birth both with and without Hypnobirthing I can offer a fantastic insight into its advantages and the options available to couples for labour.
My base is Penzance and I teach couples privately in the comfort of their own home in West Cornwall.
