Hypnobirthing Dorset - Teachers' Directory
I have been trained to be a hypnobirthing teacher by Katharine Graves. I have home educated my son and now he is off on his adventures, I thought it was time for me to have mine! I have been involved with AIMS (Assoc. for the Improvement in Maternity Services) for many years on the committee and as Publications Secretary. I have a good knowledge of the issues surrounding birth and decided to teach hypnobirthing to get closer to the mums. I am continually amazed at the power of hypnobirthing and love passing on the techniques and message to couples.
My name is Bethany Brown and I am a qualified KGHypnobirthing teacher based in Poole, Dorset. My background is midwifery, I have achieved a BSc Maternal and Newborn care and have had 3 years experience working as a student midwife and aspirant midwife in the NHS. I have experience of all aspects of maternity care and have witnessed some beautiful hypnobirthing births from a midwife’s perspective.
This inspired me to learn more about hypnobirthing, which has led to me qualifying as a KGHypnobirthing teacher with Katharine Graves and founding Cherry Blossom Births.
I am passionate about antenatal education and delivering evidence-based, balanced information to allow people to make a true informed choice.
My 12 hour full antenatal program gives you all the information and support you need to have the best possible birth experience for you. You will learn about what happens to your body throughout pregnancy and labour and how some simple relaxation techniques can alter your perception of birth and understand that birth is a natural process.
This releases feelings of fear and apprehension and gives you confidence to ask questions and actively communicate with your health professionals, which is essential for making informed decisions. I also emphasise the importance of the role of birth partner and involve them throughout the course.
Anyone from Dorset and beyond can enquire about a virtual or face-to-face course using the contact details above.

Hello, my name's Marina! Because I had a lot of fear around birth, I did a hypnobirthing course to prepare for the birth of my son. I had an amazing, positive birth experience that afterwards made me feel so empowered! I was shocked that it's not talked about in our society, that birth can be magical and empowering, and felt called to help other women experience birth in the way that I had. I would love to help you!
I am a qualified hypnotherapist and counsellor and can offer you a relaxing and safe space to learn in. I have two teenage children and love to work with others to help develop that fundamental relationship that you will have with your baby right from the word go
My name is Emma. I am a KG hypnobirthing teacher, breastfeeding peer supporter and a pre & postnatal personal trainer. Living in the beautiful Tarrant Valley in Dorset I am raising my 2 lovely daughters.
I used hypnobirthing for both my births in two very contrasting scenarios. I had pre eclampsia with my first daughter so had a very medicalised induction. With my second I had a homebirth.
In both these situations hypnobirthing helped enormously. I remained calm, relaxed and in control. I found the sensations powerful but not painful. To me giving birth is the most empowering and wonderful experience I have ever had.
I decided to train as a KG Hypnobirthing teacher as I feel every mother deserves a positive birth experience whatever birth journey she is given.
KG is a fantastic course with just the right balance of science and hypnobirthing technique. You will come away feeling prepared, knowledgable and excited for your birth. With practice you and your partner can experience this life changing event with confidence and control.
I am also a trained breastfeeding supporter and hope that this will allow me to help new mums in those crucial early days.

In 2007, I gave birth to my daughter using Hypnobirthing following my own course with the inspirational Katharine Graves herself. It was my own life-changing, positive birth experience then which led me to change career direction and bring the benenfits of Hypnobirthing to Bournemouth.
In 2010, as well as passing my hypnotherapy diploma with distinction, I qualified to teach Hypnobirthing. I haven't looked back since then and love helping expectant parents on their journey to calm labour and birth for themselves and their babies.
Hello you beautiful people, I'm Naomi, a real life mumma to a gorgeous little soul hoping to reach out to give confidence to ladies ( and men) everywhere that bumps, babies and everything beyond is amazing.
My little boy made a precious entry into the world surrounded by calm, tranquil energies after a short, enjoyable, pain free birth. It was shortly after having Cody that I decided I wanted to do something fulfilling with my life and so I trained to be a KGHypnobirthing Antenatal Practitioner.
The practice of KGHypnobirthing not only made my personal experience incredible, but it made me want to share this gift of magnificence and empowerment with other expecting Mumma's (and Pappa's) so they too can enjoy birthing in all its beauty.
My name is Natalie and I am an experienced Registered Midwife and KG Hypnobirthing teacher. I currently work clinically as a midwife and have had many years experience of providing care and support to couples during pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period. I am also a qualified hypnotherapist, have training in antenatal aromatherapy and have Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) accreditation in breastfeeding.
As a midwife, I have supported couples to use hypnobirthing techniques when birthing their baby and have seen firsthand what a difference this can make during their labour and birth. This experience is what has been the driving factor to train as a KG Hypnobirthing teacher in order to help support others to remain calm and focused during labour and ultimately achieve the birth experience which is right for them. I am passionate about informed choice for couples and actively promote this in both my role as a midwife and as a KG Hypnobirthing teacher. I am excited to support you on your journey to parenthood.
I have a background in care, specialising in Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), working for a variety of charities, Specialist Education Schools and as a consultant for schools. It is this background of health and social care that has led me onto this path. Whilst pregnant with my first child, I began volunteering with NCT (National Childbirth Trust) and still do today. Over the years, I’ve added more training, children and volunteering. Including breastfeeding training with ABM (Association of Breastfeeding Mothers), where I am also a mentor for new and qualified students and I also volunteer with APNI (Association for Post-Natal Illness). I have also contributed to the NICE Intrapartum Care guidelines when it was first published in 2014 and am on a Diversity Network for a national charity.
As well as a hypnobirthing teacher, I am also a Doula, where I feel it is important for mothers and their families to feel supported before, during and after. Phyllis Klaus refers to Doulas as ‘heart work’ and I couldn’t agree more, as a Doula it is wonderful to see parents grow in confidence, from the support that they have been given.
All teachers in our directory have training and been accredited in the KG Hypnobirting method. This includes being assessed to ensure they have the skills, experience and level of professionalism essential to promoting good practice within the field of natural birthing techniques. All members are strong advocates of natural birthing as the method of choice for expectant mothers and have signed up to our code of ethics, committing to carrying out best practice at all times.
The use of hypnobirthing in natural birthing is increasing as understanding about it becomes more widespread, as it promotes the use of hypnosis techniques to create a more peaceful, stress-free birth for mother and baby and we have more information about it on our website.
