Hypnobirthing Essex - Teachers' Directory
Trudy Glenister, Life Coach – As an established Clinical Hypnotherapist, it is my business to reduce stress and fear where people are not coping. As a KGHypnobirthing Teacher, it is my pleasure to offer to Mothers and their chosen partner all the support they require on a true journey of a lifetime.
I have worked with children and families for most of my adult life and have been a hypnotherapist, psychosensory therapist and a master trainer for the past 7 years.
I do a great deal of work training school and children’s facilities staff as well as parents.
The work I do with parents ranges from those trying to become pregnant, being pregnant, giving birth to bringing up their children. It’s my passion and my whole life has been about finding out more about what makes us happy, healthy humans.
My husband and I have 3 daughters and 2 sons between us and we currently have 8 grandchildren.
For over 24 years I have had the privilege of working with many women, supporting them through conception, pregnancy and in a post-natal capacity. I have also worked with new mothers and their babies immediately after their births. I am so excited to now be able to teach KGHypnobirthing, I know that the knowledge and information that unfolds during the course will be invaluable to the parents and to the baby. The skills they learn will enable them to have the most empowering birth and the effects of the course will continue to blossom through their relationship and the rest of their lives. I am a fully qualified Cranio Sacral Therapist, Reflexologist, Aromatherapist, Shiatsu Practitioner and KGHypnobirthing Teacher. I have three grown up children. I am empathetic have a great sense of humour and am a home maker too.
Hi. I'm Verity, a lawyer, birth aficionado and mum of two boys (and therefore proud owner of a terrifying number of toy cars, trains, tractors and diggers...)
After a difficult birth with my first baby, I did a hypnobirthing course and had an absolutely magical homebirth with baby number two with no pain relief apart from a birthing pool and a bit of swearing at my husband. And all this was despite being an absolute cynic and having a hefty 9lb 1 baby.
Before having children my take on giving birth was pretty accurately summed up by Miranda from Sex and the City: "When this gets going, don't let anyone get all cheerleadery on me. I don't want any of that, you can do it, push push" And actually I still have that view as with hypnobirthing YOU are your own cheerleader and doing a hypnobirthing course will equip you with all the tools you need to know that you CAN do it (without any overzealous support from the sidelines).
I consider it an immense privilege to empower women to have the best birth possible for them.
So if you want a no-nonsense course which gives you and your birth partner the facts about birth and the options open to you and think that I would be a good fit for you then get in touch. (And if your birth partner needs any encouragement then the good news is that the course I run from my home is only 150 yards from a pub...)
I cover the North Essex/Suffolk region including:
- Bury St Edmunds
Through my own birth experiences (an emergency caesarean, a planned caesarean, and a home water birth) and the births I have attended as a doula, I am constantly amazed by the intricacy of the human body, and how well and how delicately nature contrives what’s best for us and our babies, when we give it a chance. My goal is to ensure this perfect choreography, this dance of the hormones, which enables birth to proceed optimally, is protected and preserved. Hypnobirthing is a great tool to achieve this.
I am a registered midwife, KGHypnobirthing instructor, former university lecturer, mother of two girls, and resident of Highams Park.
I have a first class honours degree in midwifery from King’s College London. My dissertation was on women’s experience of a diagnosis of tongue-tie. My training was at St. Thomas’ Hospital, where I currently work part-time. I had a lovely homebirth with my second daughter while I was a student.
Before training as a midwife I was a university researcher and senior lecturer in education development. I have lots of experience of qualitative research – talking to people about their experiences – in the context of healthcare and learning, and learning for healthcare practice. I had my first daughter at Whipps Cross Hospital while I was a researcher, just completing a project looking at teamworking on delivery suites.
I am a feminist and am deeply passionate about supporting women, managing expectations, smoothing the transition to motherhood and helping women to make informed choices. By teaching couples with KGHypnobirthing I aim to empower women to have a calm, comfortable and positive birth.
As well as being a KGHypnobirthing teacher I am also a mother, midwife, doula and massage therapist.
I am passionate about helping women and their partners have a positive and empowering transition to motherhood.
I facilitate monthly Positive Birth Movement meetings in my home - all welcome. https://www.facebook.com/ThePositiveBirthMovementSouthEastEssex/
