Hypnobirthing Kent - Teachers' Directory
I am Gina Potts, founder of ZenBirth, a leading provider of KG Hypnobirthing in Kent and the South East. I am a hypnobirthing mother of two beautiful hypnobabies, and I have been teaching hypnobirthing since April 2011.
I first found out about hypnobirthing from a friend late in my first pregnancy. I read the book, and I knew immediately that hypnobirthing was for me. I passed the book along to my husband and he was also enthusiastic about the hypnobirthing approach. We took semi-private classes and when on to have a beautiful 'zen' birth experience with our son. You can read all about it on my website (www.zenbirth.co.uk).
I am passionate about hypnobirthing and supporting couples to have positive birth experiences. I hold a Diploma in KG Hypnobirthing (accredited by the Royal College of Midwives) and a Certificate in HypnoBirthing (Mongan Method). Additionally, I am an NCT-trained Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. And I regularly undertake on-going study and continuing professional development. I was a member of the KG Hypnobirthing Steering Group, an active member of the Hypnobirthing Association (UK), and have also been member of the HypnoBirthing Institute (USA).

As a clinical hypnotherapist and having previously practiced as a midwife, I wanted to continue to support families through their child birthing experience. With my calm, nurturing approach to child birth, I can give you tools to enable you to have a calm, comfortable and confident birth experience.

I am a Mind-Body specialist that has dedicated the last 20 years to passionately support women and men during the family building process. I am currently part of a team teaching KGHypnobirthing in an UK hospital.
My background includes a solid experience as childbirth educator and birth and post-birth doula. In addition I am a UNICEF certified breastfeeding counsellor and I pregnancy massage specialist.
As I currently work and teach KGHypnobirthing in a hospital setting, I have the privilege to continuously witness the power of this mind-body technique to help women and their partners discover the perfection of the birthing process, address their concerns about it and achieve a positive birth experience.
My training in psychotherapy (Gestalt and Body Oriented therapies) provides me with the skills needed to support women who feel especially anxious about birth or who have had a previous traumatic experience.
I bring to my Hypnobirthing classes my knowledge of the powerful mind-body connection as well as my counselling skills to offer women and their partners emotional and practical support that responds to their personal needs and circumstances during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
I am a nurse and midwife with over 7years experience, so I have experienced first-hand the amazing benefits of hypnobirthing. My active registration can be confirmed on the Nursing and Midwifery Council Register.
I also have two children of my own, and often wish I had discovered hypnobirthing earlier so I could have tried it myself.
Having worked in a busy London hospital for several years, and then a busy local hospital, I decided to have a change of pace and pursue a great passion of mine, antenatal education.
When I heard about the KGHypnobirthing teacher training course, I felt it was a brilliant way to combine antenatal education with hypnobirthing, something I’d always be fascinated by. Through completing this Royal College of Midwives accredited course, I now hold a Diploma in Hypnobirthing and I am a member of the Association of Hypnobirthing. The KGH course exceeded my expectations and I am very excited to share this knowledge and help to empower you in your pregnancy and birth.

I am Katy. Mum to Maggie, my spirited and sassy daughter born in June 2016 and Jasper, my firecracker son born just 18 months later on New Year’s Eve 2017. My husband Chris and our fur baby, Little Bear complete our family. We live in Tunbridge Wells.
My name is Libby, im 20 and from Kent. I am currently a third year student midwife at Brighton university!
Since a young age I have been fascinated by the miracle of pregnancy and wanted to learn more. KGH has allowed me to see the magic that is brought about during birth, the process of completing a family.
Growing up as a dancer from a young age has enabled me to think calmly and freely about how our body and mind works as one. If you have a relaxed mind then your body will react the same way.
If I could do anything in life I would aim to give each woman I teach a memorable birth in which she feels empowered by her body and what it is capable of!
Our qualified and accredited hypnobirthing teachers in Kent are in our local directory. Their details include email and website addresses so you can contact them directly, as well as information on any upcoming courses and a short biography. We hope this gives you the peace of mind you are looking for in your chosen teacher.
Why Choose a Hypnobirth?
Hypnobirthing and the use of hypnosis is becoming increasingly recognised as an effective method for giving birth as it helps the mother have a far more rewarding, relaxed and natural birthing experience than she may ever have thought possible. Not only that, but the baby is far more relaxed too as she has not felt any of her mother's stress or anxiety through the birthing.
We have members across the United Kingdom and beyond, with a number based throughout Kent, including practitioners in Ashford, Canterbury, Chatham, Cranbrook, Herne bay, Kings Hill, Medway, Maidstone, Rochester, Sevenoaks, Sittingbourne, Tenterden and Tunbridge Wells. So we hope you will be to find a course reasonably local to where you live. Alternatively, many members can also provide individual classes, if that is your preference.
Our teachers are trained in KG Hypnobirthing and are experienced in teaching expectant mothers how to use these methods as they progress through childbirth. Each has been individually assessed to ensure they meet our high standards of practice, before they receive their accreditation from us.
