Hypnobirthing Teesside - Teachers' Directory
Hello, my name is Jen and congratulations on your pregnancy. I am a KG Hypnobirthing facilitator, Mum-to-four, and a devotee to supporting and guiding families through pregnancy, birth and the early days of parenting. I currently deliver group and individual Hypnobirthing programmes in York, Harrogate, Ripon, Masham, Durham, Darlington and Yarm.
As a Psychology graduate, I have a deep understanding how the psychological processes have an influence on your pregnancy, birth and parenting experiences. My qualifications in CBT, Mindfulness, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Hypnosis, coupled with qualifications and experience in Baby Massage and Newborn Nurture, leads me to approach your needs in a holistic, and well-informed way.
As a fully qualified Antenatal Educator and KG Hypnobirthing Practitioner, I have trained to help you achieve the pregnancy and birth you want and need. Learning the skills of Hypnobirthing is straightforward with Halcyon Hypnobirthing - once you learn how your body works in pregnancy, the skills and techniques follow.
As an educator, I know how to teach and facilitate your learning in a fun, down-to-earth and accessible way. I know how to best develop your Hypnobirthing skills by teaching the physiological and psychological processes of pregnancy and birthing. My knowledge and understanding of the process of learning, combined with the knowledge and understanding of Hypnobirthing, is hugely effective.
Each, and every, birth is as different as every couple, and every family. I encourage Mum's and partners to remember this. I do not believe in, a one-size-fits-all, approach to birthing and parenting. This is where my success lies. By getting to know you as individuals, I can enhance your self-belief, your confidence and ultimately, your ability.
Your role as a parent adds a new dimension to your life, and the impact of this cannot be underestimated. Building and nurturing your family is a time of great excitement, and one filled with hopes, dreams and aspirations. Pregnancy, birth and parenting can be joyous, awe-inspiring and one of the most fulfilling experiences. They can also be challenging, confusing and not quite how you thought it would be! I am here to support, reassure and guide.
I have been working with parents, babies and children for over 30 years. As a mama to four, I understand the ups-and-downs of parenting, and I also know how to 'ride-the-waves'. I take a holistic approach to health and well-being for parents and baby. I also take a pragmatic but considered approach. I believe by nurturing yourself, nurturing your baby and nurturing your relationship, you can face parenting challenges better equipped.
Over the years, I have worked in a range of roles to include:
- Hypnobirthing Practitioner
- Antenatal Educator
- Infant massage Instructor
- Newborn Nurture Specialist
- Early Years Practitioner and Specialist
- Maternity Nurse
- Nanny and Night Nanny
- Primary School Teacher
- Lecturer and Trainer in Childcare and Education
- Early Years Consultant
- Parenting Education and Support

Through my experiences, and with a passion for helping families nurture each other, I love to help a family become, the family they want to be.
I am an experienced Psychotherapist and Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist, an a few years ago I heard about Hypnobirth!! I immediately felt that Hypnobirth was definitely something I needed to know more about! I often had mums to be in the clinic asking for help with their fears of giving birth. The best decision I have ever made. I googled Hypnobirth and within two months I was attending a teacher training course. I have attended another another course this year, and love teaching this technique to my mums and their birthing partners, helping them to birth their baby calmly and in control, just as they planned!
