Hypnobirthing Yorkshire N - Teachers' Directory
I’m Lowri Mawer a mother of two living in Boston Spa. I am a GP with a special interest in Women’s Health and advocacy (MBChB, MRCGP, DipFSRH). I have been trained by, the Royal College of Midwifery accredited, Hypnobirthing Teacher Training Course to gain my Diploma in Hypnobirthing (KGH).
Having always enjoyed Obstetrics and Gynaecology through my medical training, I always found pregnancy and birth miraculous and a true testament to the power of the human body and mind. It wasn’t until my own pregnancies that I discovered Hypnobirthing and how transformative birth can be.
I have always been saddened at how pregnancy and birth, often a healthy women’s first experience of medical care and hospitalisation, can be a fearful and traumatic experience. When in reality pregnancy can be the perfect time to get to know and trust your body, listen to your instinct and educate yourself so that you can be in control and in charge of your care decisions when it comes to your body and your baby.
My course provides you with the relaxation tools required to induce a calm and positive state in pregnancy and labour. In addition, and in some instances more importantly, my aim is to equip you with the tools you will require to advocate for yourself, to make truly informed decisions. The course is not aimed at an ‘ideal birth’ there is no ‘one size fits all’ but what I do hope to do is empower you to feel in control of your care decisions and improve the trust and relationship you have with your own mind and body.
My name is Charlotte, as well as being a hypnobirthing teacher, I am a practising midwife and a mum of 3. I have been passionate about facilitating normal and natural birth since becoming a student midwife nearly 10 years ago. I have experience in antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal cares having worked both in community and on labour ward and midwife led units. I love working with women who are informed and are in control of their own birth experiences and this course really helps women to achieve this. I love giving women and their partner’s information and support at such an important time in their lives and I have seen how antenatal education can really help women turn from fearful about birth, to hopeful and enthusiastic.
Hi, I'm Katy. I am a Mum of 3, a Military Wife, a Nurse and a Midwife. I love everything bumps, babies and beyond.
I qualified as a registered Nurse in 2008 and following a career in the RAF as a Nurse I followed my dream and became a registered Midwife in 2014. I have volunteered in Malawi, Africa and gained unforgettable experience in Maternity care. This experience makes me so appreciative of the wonderful Maternity care that we have in the UK.
I have completed my Diploma in Katherine Graves Hypnobirthing.
Over the years as a Midwife I have noticed the positive effect that hypnobirthing has on women in having a relaxed pregnancy and positive birth experience. Whether their birth is cared for by a Midwife or a Consultant, whether it is an emergency or a calm environment, a cesarian or a pool birth the importance is how the woman views her experience, seeing it with positivity.
This is why I started Mumborneveryminute, to give women the opportunity to gain the tools to provide herself with relaxation, hypnobirthing and preperation through practice, to gain a positive a relaxed mind set for pregnancy and birth.

Hi, I’m Helen. I live in the Yorkshire Wolds with my husband, our three boys who are 9, 6 and 4 and our Irish Terrier!
I teach Yoga, including pregnancy and postnatal yoga (this is inclusive for mums and babies). I teach Hypnobirthing.
I am passionate about helping others, in any situation.
Through my own practice and teaching yoga to others, I am fascinated by how the breath can work to calm and heal the mind and body.
I believe that every woman and her birth supporter(s), should be educated and informed as they move through pregnancy towards birth.
KNOWLEDGE IS EVERYTHING.
I aim to empower a mother to be, informing her of the changes in her body she can expect to see and why, the process of pregnancy, informing her about the process of birth, how and which hormones work in pregnancy and labour. All the time building her strength and stamina, her inner focus and her power to birth her baby.
I aim to provide all necessary information to help informed choices to be made.
I am testament to the fact that hypnobirthing works. My third baby was a hypnobirthing baby – arriving in true serene circumstances, completely in control and with very little intervention.
A marked difference from my first two birth stories – all the same I wouldn’t change them as they made me who I am today, richer, stronger, wiser and completely full of gratitude that I am the mother of three healthy boys.
My own journey into motherhood gave me a strong desire to help others preparing for birth. I feel very fortunate to be able to pass on the beauty of KGHypnobirthing.

I became a Hypnobirthing teacher because it gave me two amazing births. One induced, with complications and interventions. One 'easy' water birth. But I feel great about BOTH those experiences because I felt informed, in control and prepared for what was happening. I want to help as many mums as possible to feel positive and empowered about their births - whatever shape that takes!
Hi! I'm Holly, mum of 3 plus a forever 16 day old angel baby. I've used hypnobirthing for all 4 of my own births of which all were very different with 1 natural and 3 belly births. All were positive experiences thanks to the tools and knowledge I had learned from hypnobirthing. With each pregnancy I grew with confidence in my body and my choices and wish to empower other mums to trust themselves and their bodies and feel empowered to have the birth they choose. I would love to support all mums, from first time or subsequent pregnancies and would be delighted to support parents expecting rainbow babies as I know myself how anxiety provoking this experience can be.
Its clear to see I light up when talking about pregnancy and birth, it’s something that I find truly awe inspiring. I love learning and gaining up to date and new knowledge and my passion is obvious when I teach. I am excited to share the hypnobirthing world with others and hopefully spread some positivity in the birthing world which often leads mothers to believe their bodies simply cannot birth unaided and their bodies are somehow flawed and that birth has to be a painful and fearful experience.
I can’t wait to change the narrative for you and share how you can have a positive, comfortable and confident birthing experience!
