Hypnobirthing Yorkshire S - Teachers' Directory
Hi, I'm Jen, the founder of The Positive Birth Coach.
I have always been in the medical profession - originally qualifying as a children's nurse in 2011 and then retraining as a paramedic in 2017.
I then discovered the incredible benefits of hypnobirthing when I was pregnant with my son and it transformed me from a place of fear and negativity to confidence and excitement!
My hypnobirthing course centres around the KIT framework - providing you with the knowledge, internal mindset and techniques you need for a positive birth!
We will work together to make sure you are informed, prepared and excited for your upcoming birth and can experience a birth where you are calm, comfortable and in control!
As well as being a qualified nurse and midwife, having worked as a midwife for over 30 years, I am a mother of 3 grown up children and currently have two grandsons. I worked as a community midwife for 18 years and a caseload midwife for 10 of these, caring for my families throughout their pregnancy, birth at home or in hospital and postnatally up until their baby was a month old. A high number of the women on our caseload had their baby at home, but we also cared for women with more complex pregnancies in hospital. Over the past 21 years I have qualified in a number of complementary therapies which I have incorporated into my midwifery practice, such as Massage, Shiatsu, Aromatherapy, Reflexology and teaching baby massage. I offered a course of baby massage to the team's families which I really enjoyed, especially as I could see the babies grow and develop after 1 month of age! I also worked as a complementary therapy midwife with a colleague at the Jessop Wing hospital, one day a week for 7 years.
I trained in teaching Hypnobirthing with Katherine Graves in 2014 and have enjoyed teaching this to many parents waiting for the special day their baby/babies arrive.
I am now semi retired and work part time on the hospital wards and as a flu/COVID vaccinator as well as a private complementary therapist.
I love caring for famiies having their babies and feel passionate in promoting a positive birth experience. Each birth is unique and I feel priveledged to be with the family at this special time.
When you are considering Hypnobirthing, you want to know whether it can help you and if you can trust it and if it is a good investment. More and more women and their partners all answer "Yes" to these questions.
I knew when I was very young that I wanted to teach parents how to care for their babies, and so teaching Hypnobirthing was a natural step for me. My nursing and complementary work and particularly Hypnotherapy, ensures I offer a quality service to you and your partner to support you for an empowering birth experience.
The benefits are that I work with you on any fears with a new positive mindset, to trust yourself, and learn so much about your health in pregnancy, your body, labour, birth, care of your baby, and how to become confident Parents with a calmer baby. On this course you will also learn how to get the best support from your partner and caregivers. Wouldn't it be great to have lovely memories of the birth of your baby that you will remember forever?
I remember what it felt like to be a new Parent, and so many Parents want additional support and advice, either during pregnancy or once baby arrives. Being prepared by receiving supportive antenatal advice and care and feeling spoiled can be such a great start.
I offer an additional VIP package ranging from 2-4 hours which can include consultation face to face or via email, for a choice of therapies, or a successful breast-feeding package. Please contact me for information.
I offer Maternity Reflexology during pregnancy, and a special session when you have reached the anticipated date of baby's birth to help you relax and prepare for labour and birth.
I am a dedicated and passionate midwife who has been practising since 2008. I have worked in all areas of midwifery including community and in birth centres. My main goal when working as a midwife is to keep a woman’s birthing experience as ‘positivel’ as possible, even when their experiences are ‘not going to plan’. This is through different methods such as encouraging upright positions, advising massage and a homely atmosphere. During the time that I have worked as a midwife, I have cared for many couples who have used hypnobirthing as a tool to give them the best labour and birth experience possible. I was very inspired by these experiences, as I frequently cared for women that seemed so calm, their labours often progressed quickly and the women often used less pain relief than those not hypnobirthing. Along with this, the birth partners also appeared well informed and very supportive. These experiences inspired me to becoming a KG Hypnobirthing Practitioner, as I also wanted to be able to share these amazing, powerful techniques. I work part time as midwife now and part time as a Hypnobirthing Practitioner to give couples the flexibility and best availability for their classes. During my spare time, I go hiking, practice yoga and I am involved in a local midwifery group who are campaigning for a much-needed free standing birth centre in South Yorkshire. I love to travel and I have been lucky enough to spend time in different countries such as Madagascar, where I have gained many different experiences and have had my practice influenced.
My name is Kelly and I am here to support you though your journey and your choices what every they are.
As well as a kghypnobirthing teacher, I am also a complementary therapist including; reflexology, aromatherapy and reiki. I have also completed further studies in conception, maternity, infancy & childhood.
I have three children, two boys 10yrs and 7yrs and a little girl who is nearly 2 (as of writhing in 2021). I also home educated my eldest boys.
After going through a traumatic birth with my first and not going on to have an empowering birth with my second, I decided when I got pregnant with my third that this time it was going to be different. I came across hypnobirthing; gaining knowledge around the physiology of birth, knowing my rights and how to communicate them, with the added breathing techniques, visulisations and scripts, it meant I went on to have an wonderful empowering birth. It was not exactly as I had planned but I made the right choices for me and that enabled me to stand in my power. I wanted to pass this power onto other women so you can trust your intuition and your baby, this is why I became a kghyonobirthing teacher.
To keep my knowledge growing around all things birth I have monthly zooms with an amazing independent midwife, Kemi Johnson. We look at the stages of pregnancy, birth and have birth worker support meetings. This keeps me up todate and able to discuss topics with some amazing people in the birth world.
I wish you all the best on this exciting journey.
I offer the full KGHypnobirthing antenatal programme online in small group classes. Next course running September 2021.
