Hypnobirthing Scotland - Teachers' Directory
Hi I am an experienced Hypnotherapist and Hypnobirthing Teacher with a passion to help women experience the best possible birth experience using KGHypnobirthing tools and techniques. I think women have the opportunity to be better informed and have more say in what they do and don't want during pregnancy and labour. KGHypnobirthing involves the partner through the whole experience (if that is what the mother wants) and makes sure you are equipped with the information you need to make your birth experience wonderful.
I started my training to become a midwife in 2007 and very quickly found my passion was for promoting and enabling normality during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. I fully believe that by empowering pregnant people to trust in themselves and their bodies’ capabilities, they can achieve a fulfilling birth experience that is more likely to follow a natural course without the need for medical intervention.
I believe that through the use of antenatal education, preparation and empowerment, pregnant people can lose their fear of childbirth and enjoy this most powerful and extraordinary time in their lives. I have supported many pregnant people to achieve a positive pregnancy and birth experience and look forward to sharing this special time with you.
Building on my own experiences with pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding, I decided to go back to study in order to provide professional support for pregnant women and their families. Now, fully qualified, I own Boobin' Around Hypno and offer an arrey of services, both antenatal & postnatal.
All services are offered worldwide (via zoom/ whatsapp) and in-person options are available to those living in Inverclyde and surrounding areas!
I am a qualified KGHypnobirthing Teacher and all round supporter of Positive Birth. I love all things birth and baby! I am a wife and I am a Mother to one amazing Son.
I help women and their birth partners to achieve a positive, supported and self empowered pregnancy and birth through KGHypnobirthing.
My name is Faye Thornhill and I am a qualified Katherine Graves hypnobirthing practitioner. I practiced hypnobirthing for the births of both of my children and was astounded at the peaceful and powerful way my labours unfolded. Since that point I have had a deep respect and love for childbirth and believe that fear and the over medicalisation of birth are preventing woman experiencing the pure joy of birth. I see hypnobirthing as a gift and believe completely in its ability to help you release fear, be and stay calm before and during the birth of your baby and also to enable you to make informed decisions you are comfortable and most importantly happy with. Please just drop me a line if you would like to discuss the course or find out more.
I am Victoria, the founder of Hypnobirthing Midlothian. I am also a Primary School teacher and Mum of two Hypnobirthed babies.
It was because of my wonderful and empowering birthing experiences that I decided to train to become a KG Hypnobirthing Instructor.
I am passionate about women and birth. I believe that with the right information and techniques any woman (no matter how anxious she is) can have a positive birthing journey.
Before taking a Hypnobirthing course I was like most mothers-to-be, my knowledge of birthing consisted of what I had seen in the movies and other women's stories (both of which were not particularly positive or realistic images of birth).
During the course I felt like I was seeing true birth for the first time. My mind-set was transformed. I felt so confident in my body and so knowledgeable about what birth physically (and mentally) entailed.
After my first birth I raved about Hypnobirthing to every pregnant (and non pregnant!) woman I saw. I wanted to let women into the “secret” that birth doesn’t have to be scary. It truly is the best experience of your life. My husband suggested I channel my enthusiasm and train to be a Hypnobirthing teacher and I’ve not looked back since.
I believe that I have a unique insight into Hypnobirthing as I am proof that the method works.
I would be humbled to be part of your birthing journey. Let me unlock the “secret” to a more informed and empowered birth. You won’t believe how easy it is to have a birth without fear.
I'm a hypnobirthing mum of 2 young boys and full-time yoga teacher specialising supporting women through pregnancy, birth and beyond.
In 2017 I made the decision to work for myself and start my beauty and holistic therapy business Brindle Beauty. Alongside working for myself I also work for the NHS as a medical lab assistant. I regularly work with expectant mothers as I offer pregnancy massage. In September I will start my midwifery training at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen so I wanted to train as a KGHypnobirthing teacher to be able to empower women, give them confidence and strategies to maintain relaxation through birth
Hi,
My name is Kirsty. I live in Aberdeen with my fiancé, Liam and our son, Joseph. Giving birth was the best day of my life and that was thanks to hypnobirthing!
I was terrified when I found out I was pregnant, but completing a face to face hypnobirthing course really turned that around. From there on I was able to enjoy and appreciate my pregnancy, along with the birth of my baby.
My birth didn't go exactly to plan, but the hypnobirthing techniques I learned kept me calm throughout and it was still such a positive experience. I still use the techniques to help deal with day to day stress and find they are hugely beneficial in helping me keep calm amongst the chaos of parenting.
After Josephs birth, I decided I wanted to do my hypnobirthing teacher training to show other women that they can have positive and empowering births!
I am fortunate enough to have friends who are as passionate about birth as I am and also have done their KG Hypnobirthing training. Together we have created 'Empower: Parenting Consultants' dedicated to supporting and empowering parents.
A passionate Hypnobirthing Teacher who would love to help mums and birth partners have the best possible birth experience.
I received my Midwifery degree with distinction in 2011 from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen before moving to London to work in a large maternity unit. The majority of my time was spent within the Midwifery Led Birthing Unit facilitating mostly waterbirths before caseloading my own antenatal women in the community. Fed up of city life I then relocated to village life, firstly in Surrey and now settled in Nairn, in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. With the move came a new job in in the surrounding community providing antenatal care, postnatal care, homebirths and antenatal education sessions to the women in my care. I qualified as a KG Hypnobirthing instructor in early 2017 after witnessing women using the techniques in labour. I was astounded at how calm, relaxed and confident they were for their own birth and it inspired me to try and provide these tools to the other women in my care going forward. I have also since used these skills for the births of my two children, Euan and Iris. I found that these skills were key to me achieving relaxed and positive birth experiences, even with the need for a medical induction with my first birth.
In my spare time you can either find me on long walks with the kids accompanied by my busy Border Collie Pippa or tending to my chickens in the garden. I can't wait to meet you all and support you on your very special journey.
Hi I'm Lynsey, mum to a very energetic happy 3 year old and the founder of the Empowered Parent.
After learning and applying Hypnobirthing in my own labour with my son Zander, I wanted to ensure every mother, parent and birth partner understand the virtues of how powerful, yet simplistic hypnobirthing really is.
I am a proud KGHypnobirthing trained teacher, whose teachings have been featured in The Sunday Times, The Guardian and Women's hour.
My aim is to inform and educate parents and birth partners to allow them to feel empowered, whatever form birth takes.
