Hypnobirthing Scotland - Teachers' Directory
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm delighted to offer KGHypnobirthing courses for expectant parents at this excitng (and sometimes nervewracking) time. As an experienced hypnotherapist, and practitioner/trainer of various energy healing therapies, my background is in holistic wellbeing, and I am fascinated by the mind's capacity to shape our experience. I'm also naturally quite sceptical, and enjoy research and learning in order to better understand and practice the most beneficial techniques available, which is what led me to use breathing and visualisation techniques during my first labours (many years ago), and to look for more specific training for birth preparation as part of my ongoing learning. I'm a mother of three (with a fourth baby due early autumn 2019), and have experienced both hospital and home births, and the varying approaches to pregnancy and labour over the 20-year span between my first and current pregnancies. I feel it is hugely important for parents-to-be to receive all the information, support and respect appropriate to a life experience as significant as the birth of a child, and see my role in offering the course as laying out as much information, and as many helpful techniques as possible to facilitate a truly positive experience of birth. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions you might have about the course, or hypnobirthing generally.
Hi, my name is Agnes, I'm a qualified mental health nurse and mindfulness teacher with 7 years experience. I started a wellbeing business in 2018, specialising in one-to-one anxiety management, self-compassion coaching and talking therapy. I was profoundly affected by the birth of my cousin's baby using hypnobirthing. Beautiful baby India was born gently and easily at home in September 2018. Following this experience, I decided to add hypnobirthing to my list of services. My Mum, Elizabeth and my good friend Kirsty and I decided to form a separate company dedicated solely to empowering parents. Combined, we have over 50 years health care experience and we're passionate about supporting parents. I am yet to have children of my own but hearing the wonderful stories of people who have used hypnobirthing it seems like a no-brainer. I'm very excited at the thought of putting the theory into practice at some point in the future. For now, I have the honour of teaching a fantastic birth preparation course.
My name is Susan and I am the mother to two babies born calmly using Hypnobirthing so I know that it works! Both at home with no need for pain relief and no tearing. One of my favourite memories is being in my bed, with my husband and our baby girl beside us, sleeping away at 2 hours old. =) My background is in the IT industry so I was sceptical Hypnobirthing would work. I did some (lots!) of research and the logical conclusion was that it made sense. Nothing to lose and potentially a lot to gain and after training, we definitely did. To help put birthing back to being a happy even, not a traumatic one, I took the Royal College of Midwives accredited, KG Hypnobirthing training to become a qualified HypnoBirthing teacher to spread the word wider. My investigative nature means, that I am constantly updating my knowledge of birth and what others have found helpful with HypnoBirthing. I look forward to meeting you and discovering what works to help you to have the same fantastic experience of calm and informed birthing.
Hello, my name is Claire, I'm married to my lovely Husband, Graham and together we have two beautiful children; Georgia and Ryan.
I’d love to take a little moment to tell you how I found my love and passion for Hypnobirthing. It all started because I had rather a traumatic delivery with Georgia and this sadly affected me for some years after her birth. When I fell pregnant for a second time, I was extremely lucky to meet an incredibly kind midwife at my 16-week appointment. She quickly noticed my fears and anxiety and suggested I look into Hypnobirthing - I will forever be grateful to this very special lady.
This is where my journey towards the birth I'd always dreamed about began. I studied KGHypnobirthing and from the very first session I was converted to this logical, science-based approach to birth. Everything made so much sense! I loved the fact that my Husband felt empowered to have more of an active role, and the practice we had in the lead up to the birth of our baby boy brought us closer together. It was such a special time in our relationship.
I had a water birth with my little boy and he was born swiftly and calmly within a few hours of me going into labour. I only had a little bit of gas and air and one slight intervention was needed. He was so relaxed when he arrived that he didn't cry. It was honestly the best moment of my entire life and one that I still re-live over and over again. It really was AMAZING!
Whilst on maternity leave, I discovered that not only had KGHypnobirthing changed my life but it had also become my passion. I needed to help other women understand that birth could be something to look forward to and be met with confidence and calmness and that a positive experience is most definitely achievable and so, I decided that I would look into training to become a KGHypnobirthing Teacher.
I was trained by Katharine Graves herself and I am now qualified to teach the KG Hypnobirthing course, which is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives. I am also a member of The Hypnobirthing Association.
My name is Victoria. I am a qualified midwife and have four children. Throughout my career as a midwife I have worked in three large hospitals, two in London and one in Edinburgh. Completing my family in 2014, having four children under the age of 4 years old, gave me a different focus and changed my ideals. I had witnessed women using hypnobirthing for their birth experiences before and was amazed at the benefits. This is what led me to becoming a KG Hypnobirthing teacher. My vast experience as a qualified midwife and a Mum of four children gives me invaluable added knowledge. I am very passionate and excited about the programme I teach. I know it works! The knowledge and skills I will teach you will make a positive difference to your birth experience. I am passionate about positive birth and sharing knowledge and information to acheive the birth that you want. I provide KG Hypnobirthing classes, one to one, in West Lothian, South Queensferry, Falkirk, Kirkliston, Bo'ness, Stirling and Edinburgh. I also provide Relaxation In Pregnancy antenatal classes in Linlithgow on a Tuesday evening in 4 week blocks and Hypnobirthing Basics classes too as an introduction to Hypnobirthing. More information is on my Facebook page, KG Hypnobirhting West Lothian.
Hi I am an experienced Hypnotherapist and Hypnobirthing Teacher with a passion to help women experience the best possible birth experience using KGHypnobirthing tools and techniques. I think women have the opportunity to be better informed and have more say in what they do and don't want during pregnancy and labour. KGHypnobirthing involves the partner through the whole experience (if that is what the mother wants) and makes sure you are equipped with the information you need to make your birth experience wonderful.
Hi I offer a wide variety of services from Conception to birthing and beyond. I work as a Complementary therapist and Hypnotherapist at the Rosemount Centre in Aberdeen where I also hold my Hypnobirthing classes.
I am also an Affiliate for KGHypnobirthing Online Courses.
I am a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist and have also undergone Doula training with Red Tent Doulas. My own deliveries were very much in the clinical style 30 years ago even though I wanted a more holistic approach so Hypnobirthing is very much close to my heart.
I want mothers to feel in control of their deliveries and to have the best birth experience possible.
My name is Kirsty. I live in Aberdeen with my fiancé, Liam and our son, Joseph. Giving birth was the best day of my life and that was thanks to hypnobirthing!
I was terrified when I found out I was pregnant, but completing a face to face hypnobirthing course really turned that around. From there on I was able to enjoy and appreciate my pregnancy, along with the birth of my baby.
My birth didn't go exactly to plan, but the hypnobirthing techniques I learned kept me calm throughout and it was still such a positive experience. I still use the techniques to help deal with day to day stress and find they are hugely beneficial in helping me keep calm amongst the chaos of parenting.
After Josephs birth, I decided I wanted to do my hypnobirthing teacher training to show other women that they can have positive and empowering births!
I am fortunate enough to have friends who are as passionate about birth as I am and also have done their KG Hypnobirthing training. Together we have created 'Empower: Parenting Consultants' dedicated to supporting and empowering parents.

Hi, I’m Katy. Welcome to BORN READY BABY & congratulations on your pregnancy! Who am I? I’m a hypnobirthing mumma, Communications Professional (so I feel really passionately about the power of words and their ability to make us feel all sorts of things) and a fully qualified KGHypnobirthing teacher.
I feel so passionately that becoming a parent is beyond wonderful but it can also be completely overwhelming. Anything we can do to make sure that it gets off to the best start possible, the better. So often we’re bombarded with birth “horror stories” (we’ve all heard them) but who is telling us the empowering ones, the stories that make us excited to meet our babies? No women should feel like she has to spend her pregnancy in fear and no couple should feel traumatised by their birth experience.
Relaxed, friendly & fun, I offer a fresh, straight up, modern approach to hypnobirthing. Life is busy & your time is precious - let's make this both useful & enjoyable!
