Hypnobirthing Tyne & Wear - Teachers' Directory
My name is Maddy and I worked in the NHS as a midwife for over 20 years. I led the parent education service at the RVI in Newcastle from 2010 until my retirement and have many hours of teaching experience, both of staff and pregnant women. I have a BSc Hons in midwfery sciences and am also a qualified teacher of adults (PGCE). I have many hours of teaching in peoples homes and in classroom settings to provide enough information for them to make considered choices. I now teach hypnobirthing as I truly believe in the process and have seen the benefits professionally. Women have used the techniques of focus and relaxation for many years and in many cultures across the world and I love the fact we now have this harnessed into recognised programmes such as KGHypnobirthing. I am privileged to have worked as a midwife for so long and to have supported so many people in their journey. I can help you.
In the summer of 2017 I gave birth to my beautiful daughter. It was, without a doubt, the most amazing day of my life. However, a couple of months before, as my due date seemed to be fast approaching, I had started to become increasingly anxious and worried. This is when I discovered KGHypnobirthing. From as early as the first session, my anxiety started to disappear and armed with a wealth of new knowledge, midwife and hospital appointments no longer felt overwhelming.
When labour started, I felt calm and confident. Bringing my baby into the world was the most empowering experience I have ever had, and I want to help you feel this way too!
I'm Liz. I have been working as a Midwife within NHS hospital settings since 2013 and have a vast range of experiences, skills and in depth knowledge that I am enthusiastic to share. I do some antenatal education/parent craft sporadically within my NHS role but I am passionate about sharing knowedge, and believe in providing better quality, individualised classes - hence the creation of New Arrivals.
Informed choice is essential - but what does this mean? And what does this mean for you? I believe in teaching a thorough and comprehensive range of classes, which can be tailored to your specific needs. Regardless of the type of birth you may plan for, and what type of birth happens on the day, I believe you should feel empowered, informed and confident in your skills and your choices.

I have a passion for helping parents to release their fears and build their confidence and knowledge around the birth of their baby/babies in order that they may achieve the most positive experience for themselves and their little one(s). I am also the mother of two fine young men and an enthusiastic Samba drummer!
I'm a dynamic yoga teacher who initially trained in pregnancy yoga purely to feel confident in keeping a pregnant woman safe in my regular yoga classes. However the pregnancy yoga teacher training ignited a flame I didn't even know existed. Half way through the course I realised that my passion was moving in a new direction and that I could see a way to really help women during their pregnancy and birth through movement, meditation, breathing and positive affirmations.
After a period of time teaching pregnancy yoga classes, I realised that although the sessions were helping enormously there was still something missing... every woman who went on to have a wonderful empowered birth had all done HypnoBirthing to some extent. I realised this is what was missing from my teaching. I wanted to be able to provide that missing link to all my students. I completed KG HypnoBirthing teacher training and embarked on this wonderful journey of helping pregnant women believe in their bodies and self hypnotise in order for them to have the best birth possible.
I have had some excellent feedback from HypnoBirthing clients – whatever turn their birth took they remained calm and in control leaving them feeling empowered and positive.
It is such an honour and a privilege to be able to work with women and couples during such an important phase of their lives.
I work with single mums-to-be, same sex couples and mixed sex couples. Whatever your situation HypnoBirthing will help you to achieve a positive birth and I would love to help you on this incredible journey.
