Katharine Graves – Founder of KG Hypnobirthing

Katherine GravesKatharine Graves, leading hypnobirthing teacher, is the founder of KGHypnobirthing – the original UK Hypnobirthing – and of The Hypnobirthing Association. She has personally taught KGHypnobirthing to over 3,000 couples, and KGH has trained over 2,000 teachers, a large number of them midwives.

Katharine is the author of the international best seller, The Hypnobirthing Book, which has sold over 100,000 copies worldwide, and has also produced a range of hypnobirthing, pregnancy and birth audios.

Katharine Graves has appeared frequently in the press, at speaking events and is the ‘go to’ expert on hypnobirthing and birth related topics.

KG Hypnobirthing Parents’ Course

Katharine has created the KGH course for parents. She loves teaching her monthly courses in London.

This course is also taught by highly trained KGH teachers all over the UK and internationally.  

Katharine has also created an online version of the KGH parents course which many people find very convenient.

This course has enabled many thousands of parents achieve a birth that they afterwards describe as the most wonderful and empowering experience of their lives.

Who has Katharine taught?

Katharine has taught a number of high profile celebrities including Deliciously Ella (Ella Mills), Sarah-Jane Mee (Sky news), Caroline Diesler (social media influencer), actresses Suzanne Shaw, Sophie Austin and partner Shayne Ward, Paula Lane, plus many more who have preferred to maintain their privacy.


Paula Lane gave birth to a daughter using KG Hypnobirthing saying: ”I had a completely natural water birth. What an experience! I cannot thank you enough!”

KG Hypnobirthing Teacher Training

Katharine has developed the widely respected in-depth training course for hypnobirthing teachers. Uniquely, on this course you are trained by specialist hypnobirthing teachers often with a senior midwife in the hypnobirthing module.

The online Hypnotherapy for Hypnobirthing and Birthing Foundation modules are devised and presented by senior midwives, experienced hypnotherapists and KGHypnobirthing teachers with an impressive depth of knowledge.

The teacher training course is available in person in London or on zoom; convenient wherever you live. People have travelled from all over the world to train on Katharine’s courses in the UK, and she has visited many other countries to teach KGH.

Professional Associations

Katharine serves on the council of the Maternity and Newborn Forum of the Royal Society of Medicine and is a trustee of the Association for the Improvement of Maternity Services (AIMS). She is a member of the International Advisory Board of the HypnoFertility Foundation of America. She is a member of the Association of Radical Midwives (ARM), and an associate member of the Royal College of Midwives. Katharine trained as a doula with Michel Odent, the internationally renowned obstetrician.

Katharine has been invited to speak at the Royal Society of Medicine conferences on Hypnobirthing and on NHS funding. She often gives talks about KGHypnobirthing at conferences, universities and hospitals, and has written many articles on the subject.

Katharine’s podcast with Russell Brand, and her interviews with Ella Mills (Deliciously Ella) and other celebrities from a wide range of fields have generated an increased interest in hypnobirthing and natural birth.
