We had a great day at the march opposite Parliament on Monday supporting Independent Midwives.
From there, we marched to Downing Street, and on to the Department of Health on Whitehall. We were then able to thaw out in the canteen at St Thomas’ Hospital afterwards!
The march was supported by about 500 people, including a group of enthusiastic and supportive hypnobirthing teachers. It was great to see so many hypnobirthing teachers there alongside my banner – which I hope you like – as it is really important we do everything we can to save Independent Midwives.
Milli Hill from the Daily Telegraph has written a wonderful article explaining why independent midwives are so important, which I do recommend you read: Home delivery: why independent midwives are key to the fight for birth freedom.
