It’s not long until this year’s MaMa conference and we are busy preparing to go to Scotland to meet NHS and independent birth professionals. The conference is being held in Glasgow on 3-4 May and is the largest independent annual midwifery and maternity healthcare conference in the UK. We are looking forward to discussing various aspects of pregnancy, birth and hypnobirthing with the people who visit our stand, giving away copies of The Hypnobirthing Book and encouraging them to enter the MaMa raffle to receive a free place on the KGHypnobirthing teacher training course.
Sharing what we do
I will be presenting on both days of the conference with two of our senior KGHypnobirthing trainers: Kemi Johnson, independent midwife, and Nancy Keen, experienced KGHypnobirthing teacher. On the first day we will present on ‘Hypnobirthing integral to mainstream midwifery care’ and on the second day, it will be ‘Hypnobirthing in your daily practice’, which focusses on how midwives and health professionals can use the techniques to help all the women in their care.
Student Midwife of the Year
We are also sponsoring the award for Student Midwife of the Year and it will be interesting to see which of the five finalists will win among such a strong short-list. All midwives work extremely hard and it is wonderful to be able to play a small part in cheering them on in the early part of their career. All student midwives are enthusiastic to find out more about hypnobirthing and incorporate it in their work.
